Shade quietly finished his second breakfast. Only after the maids cleared the bowls and plates from the table did Ms. Knight's sword return to his hands.
Audrey and Miss Aurora believed that although the sword was merely an ordinary item, it was still highly worthy of investigation:
"Although the Council has preserved quite a few personal belongings of the Fifth Epoch Witches, there truly isn't a single item like this, one connected to a Witch's birth."
As they spoke, the two of them looked at Shade together. Seeing their reluctance to part with it, Shade smiled and lent them the sword:
"Keeping it with me would only make it a memento anyway. Here, return it to me after the Moon Bay Incident. As long as you don't damage the sword, study it however you like."
"I knew you were never stingy with us."
Miss Aurora reservedly kissed Shade on the cheek. As for Audrey, the twin Witch merely pressed her lips together and smiled at him, reminding Shade of her expression when she had held that glass goblet during their reunion last week.
As for Luvia and Miss Belinder, who were divining the glowing armor, even with the time it took Shade to finish a meal, they could not reach many useful conclusions, no matter how capable they were.
"However, your guess was correct. Wearing this armor can indeed avoid some of the damage from Dangerous Radiance."
Luvia said, then had Shade put on the armor:
"Wasn't the light from that sword of light you brought back last time collected by the 'Empty Bottle Fruit'? We'll test it now. Although this armor seems practically tailored for you, if it can truly resist that kind of light, it can protect others even if it hangs loosely on them."
The others were
