Iluna, hurrying along, was equally surprised to see Shade here. But neither showed it, and they merely brushed past one another. Five minutes later, Shade found Iluna in the deserted corridor outside the Opera House's third-floor boxes.
"Good afternoon. I thought you were in Creekwood Town right now."
The eighteen-year-old brown-haired young lady had taken off her hat and was holding it in her hands.
"Our team is containing a relic. Since last Monday, several missing-person reports have appeared around the Maria Empress Opera House.
"Ridgewich Field began investigating on wednesday last week, but before long, one officer and two constables investigating the matter also vanished. The police took it very seriously. They sent in more people to investigate, and they vanished as well.
"That was why the matter was reported to The Church. The Church only delivered the case file to the Captain over the weekend."
"So your Captain discovered the relic hidden in the Opera House?"
Shade pointed downstairs.
"No, our Captain has vanished too."
Iluna shook her head. But judging by her expressionless face, the Captain from Blackstone Security Company was probably unharmed despite having disappeared.
"After the captain vanished for a day and a night while investigating alone, we didn't dare send anyone near this place again. Then the church asked the Seer Association for help. After some further investigation around the outskirts, they determined that the relic here was the Keeper of Secrets Level relic, the Damaged Antarctic Constellation Clock. Oh, 'Antarctic Star' was a clock brand from the Fifth Epoch."
Since the relic's name included the words "grandfather clock," it was most likely a time-related relic. Iluna's subsequent explanation proved that point. Even she would face danger if she confronted such a relic alone.
"The relic's main body is a damaged mechanical grandfather clock.
