After agreeing to travel with Flora, Shade discussed the arrangements with the ladies at the front of the deck. Then, without speaking to the Ring Arcanists elsewhere on the deck, he jumped directly from the bow with Iluna.

The people who had been gazing reverently at the Underworld Moon beyond the mist all went to the railing and looked down. But they did not see the God Summoner again. Instead, they saw a gigantic Silver Wolf rise from below, growing until it was nearly the same size as the massive scale-covered ship.

Its silver-white fur glowed in the mist, though it was impossible to tell whether it shone by itself or reflected the light of the Underworld Moon. Iluna stood atop the Silver Wolf's head, gripping its fur, while the tiny owl was completely concealed by the silver fur.

The giant wolf then stepped across the water, circled around the Radiance Messenger, and reached the stern. Two black chains emerged from nowhere. The Silver Wolf bit down on them first, and then their ends shot backward and bound the motionless Black Dragon once more.

Shade was still smaller than that dragon beast, but in these waters, as its strength gradually drained away and its body slowly decayed, the black monster was visibly shrinking as well.

Shade was grateful that he had the Silver Wolf form besides the Moonlight Dragon. Though these tranquil waters did not strictly forbid flight, they absolutely did not permit anyone to stray too far from the surface without a vessel.

Therefore, dragging the dragon beast across the water in Silver Wolf form suited him better. A Dragon Series trampling across the water while dragging another dragon would have looked far too strange.

Maybe you could turn into a giant Silver Cat and drag it instead.
