After a slight sigh, the pointy-eared Ancient Witch explained to Shade again:
"I mentioned earlier that the Hunting Lady's power is connected to the Moon and trees. The Moon Sage most often used a bow and arrow, something that frequently appeared in Fairy Tales from every era. And once the power of the forest was touched by mortals through divine arts, it likely became the origin of 'sensing the Spirit of the Forest.'
So now, the World Tree's power is more likely to affect those whose faith is weak."
She meant that the hunter had been influenced by the tree, and that faith might also have been the reason. But none of that mattered anymore. Judging solely by what the hunter had done, aside from mistakenly killing the boy at the beginning and triggering a series of problems, he had not really done anything bad.
But if they could sort out every event that had taken place in Vesta Woodland over the past century, or even the past millennium, perhaps some minor task of his had already exerted an influence lasting a thousand years.
"This Temple is quite interesting."
While Shade was still thinking, Miss Olanord suddenly spoke again. Seeing him look at her, the witch pointed at the square platform before them:
"I have visited more than one shrine and Temple of the Hunting Lady. In the middle of the Fifth Epoch, faith in this Lady was widespread across the Southern Continent. Generally speaking, in a Temple of this size and scale, the central core would not be a statue or holy emblem, but an altar used for sacrifices."
"But the hunter just now said that when they offered sacrifices, they usually did so outside the Temple, directly opposite its entrance."
Shade pointed this out, and Miss Olanord nodded.
