Considering how cold it was on deck, Shade left the banquet hall and used Laguerre's Leap to go straight from the cabin corridor to the deck. The biting night wind made him shiver the moment he appeared, dressed only in a shirt and formal attire, though he shivered only once.
Emilia was at the very front of the highest deck, standing by the railing and gazing out at the silver white woodland beneath the night sky. She heard Shade's hurried footsteps approaching, then felt something settle over her shoulders. Looking down, she discovered it was a white fur cloak with a fur-lined collar.
Shade stood beside her, and together they gazed into the night. The snow had long since stopped, and only a few scattered clouds remained beneath the starry sky. The Star Sea therefore looked exceptionally brilliant, to the extent that it was hard to believe that a harrowing war had been taking place here only a day ago.
"Your outfit is beautiful and suits you very well, but it isn't suitable for staying on deck for too long, especially while we're in the air."
Shade warned her. Emilia, whose left hand reached across her chest to hold the right side of the cloak's collar, nodded softly. She had clearly thought of many things to say while waiting for Shade, yet now she could not say a single word.
She wanted to recall the "romantic advice" the Dragon Maids had given her, only to realize that at this point, those Dragon Witches with their big tails would have preferred to kiss him directly rather than first make idle conversation about the scenery and weather as Emilia herself had intended:
"When summer came, I said it would pass quickly. But this year's autumn has felt a little too long to
