After returning home from Saint Byron's, Shade took advantage of the night to head out again, making his way to Doctor Schneider's clinic in Tobesk's East District.
His late-night visit gave the doctor quite a fright. The doctor thought something else had happened, and only relaxed slightly after hearing that Shade wanted him to check whether there were any remnants of demonic power in a blood sample.
"This is blood? How did it get contaminated like this? No, I'm certain this wasn't caused by demonic power. What? A relic? Sorry, Detective, I've never seen records of a relic with similar properties."
Shade was not disappointed. Confirming that he had not run into a demon the moment he left home was enough to put him at ease. It meant the good luck indicated by the card during the pre-holiday mission was still holding.
By the time he threw the Crystal Shoes directly from the doctor's clinic and returned home, it was already late at night. Galina and Luvia had even changed into their nightgowns.
"Are you still going out tonight?"
"No. I'll go to the Academy tomorrow morning. Daniste hasn't been planning any trips lately, and classes have started again. She must be in the library."
As Shade spoke, he took off his coat and handed it to Tifa beside him. Luvia then continued asking:
"Then are you going to activate the Time Key later?"
That had originally been Shade's plan, but seeing the expressions on Luvia's and Galina's faces, he felt that starting a brand-new journey through time tomorrow morning would not be bad either. Although using the key would only take three seconds, he would definitely return with a whole pile of questions.
