"What scripture?"
Sixteen-year-old Miss Violet poked her head out from behind him, and Shade sighed softly:
"Eternal Slumber Scripture, a scripture left behind by the fourth angel of the ancient God of Death—the Soul-Soothing Angel. It was written during the Second Epoch. Perhaps the angel wrote it personally, or perhaps one of the angel's followers recorded it on their behalf. In my era, an old priest said this book had already been lost."
"It has been lost in the present day as well."
Sister Belen said softly. The Order of Spiritual Cultivation was itself a branch of the ancient Death Cult, so she knew quite a bit about this.
"Then is this the original?"
Miss Violet asked Shade curiously. Shade reached beneath the box and took out the book, shaking his head with considerable certainty:
"It is absolutely not an original from the Second Epoch. Otherwise, it should contain extremely powerful Miracle Elements. Besides, I have seen quite a few books from the Second Epoch. The closer they were to the end of the First Epoch, the less likely they were to be 'books' and the more likely they were to resemble stone tablets."
In other words, although this was a scripture that might have been written by an angel, its value was not particularly high. It was roughly comparable to those later books that recorded the knowledge of Ring Arcanists and might allow Ring Arcanists to obtain Spirit Runes.
But it was certainly not an ordinary book either. After Shade tapped the book and attempted to record it in the Moon Library, he discovered that some of its knowledge could not be recorded by him at present. It involved certain deeply hidden secrets.
