Shade and Miss Novare did not approach that door again. After exchanging a glance, Shade pointed at the right hand still flopping about on the floor:
"Moonlight Ray!"
A silver beam infused with Moon Fire struck the palm of the hand directly. The hand was then burned to ashes amid silver flames.
The two retreated together, their eyes still fixed on the gap beneath the door of Room 0397. Only after darkness had completely swallowed it and they had returned to the stairwell did they finally let out a slight sigh of relief.
They spoke while standing on the stairs leading upward:
"The other side can create illusions and extend its arms. Although its main body is unknown, I can already picture a white sphere made from a hundred slender arms tangled together."
The Bloodkin girl had quite an imagination:
"When we explored the third floor before, we only recorded two rooms with supplies. I didn't expect to encounter something like this this time. What do you think? Should we keep going?"
"Of course. Room 0397 was on the left side of the stairwell just now. It doesn't affect our exploration."
They did not rest and continued towards the right side. By then, the flame of the lantern ignited on the 1st Floor had weakened. Without needing Shade to remind her, Miss Novare took the initiative to light another match. Together with the candle still burning in hand, they both continued carrying lights.
They did not recognize the first two doors on the right side of the stairwell. Then, a grimy oil painting depicting a grassland appeared on the right wall, followed by another two doors they still did not recognize. But as they passed, a thumping sound came from behind the door on their left.
