Adele watched the people gathered together in conversation. She had seen that archway just now and answered its question as well. She had little feeling for "struggling against fate," nor did she understand why she had completed the so-called Pilgrimage of Fate when she had not touched upon fate in the slightest.
When facing the archway's question, her answer had been, "The Witch Council can stand united. We held hands and made it this far together." Yet when she stood atop the ridge, she felt as though she had gained nothing, only that she had become increasingly lonely.
"Can we leave now? I'll examine you when we get back."
Shade urged Luvia again, but the Purple-Eyed Girl draped in Shade's coat still stood smiling beneath the starry sky. She was in an exceptionally good mood now.
"Wait a little longer. Let me say a few things."
She pointed at the Star Sea before them.
"This is the finest gift the Pilgrims of Fate can receive. After reaching this place, everyone only came to understand fate's true meaning after seeing such scenery. Most of those who attained enlightenment gave up something. The diviner who left behind the Fate Base did so, and so did Megan and Audrey's ancestor.
"As for that Traitor Priest, he was most likely a diviner as well. Otherwise, he could never have reached this place. But he came for treasure, not for pilgrimage. He did not see the archway, yet he understood here exactly what he had missed.
"Though there is no proof, I suspect he became utterly disheartened afterward. He saw the state of mind and the gains of those diviners who truly held convictions, those who truly dared to fight against so-called fate when they arrived here. Then he realized he had taken the wrong
