The Requiem Ensemble was a regional Ring Arcanist organization in the Milson Duchy, where Paradise Island Pharmaceuticals had its headquarters. It consisted of over a dozen Ring Arcanists and some ordinary people, and was famous for singing requiems to soothe the dead.
The Ring Arcanists in this organization were generally not of high level, but their history in the region was even older than that of the duchy itself. Perhaps because they were small in number and caused no trouble, the Church had tacitly allowed them to exist.
This organization actually had rather close ties with Paradise Island Pharmaceuticals. More precisely, most of its funding came from the Miss Edwardz, since singing requiems could not earn much money, and Ring Arcanists still had to make a living.
During last year's Green Lake Incident, if they had not been so low-level that they were not even as capable as Megan and Audrey's Followers, the Witches might have called on these friends for help. They had not been able to help last year, but this year, they had been of tremendous assistance.
"According to my friends, besides them, the cult of the Old God—the God of Music—the surviving organizations of the Ancient Bard Guild, and the inheritors of the ancient druids skilled in melody from the primeval forests of southern Kasonlik have all accepted the invitation.
"I don't know anything about this 'Fate's Great Overture,' but it seems a spectacular ritual is going to be held on the island. We absolutely cannot miss it. Flora and Vanessa will probably be interested too."
Megan explained this to Galina, and the Duchess raised her wine glass and took a sip.
"Is that so? Why isn't this Shade's wine?"
"We brought it from the Milson Duchy. Shade didn't say anything, so just drink it."
