The learning ritual for the Bubble Spell was easy to set up. Before heading to the City of Scholars to keep his appointment with the witch, Shade completed the ritual at home and mastered this peculiar power. However, he lacked the corresponding Spirit Rune, so what he learned was merely a spell.
The Bubble Pod had a strange glue-like taste when chewed, but when Shade tried opening his mouth, he really did blow out a bubble. It was only an ordinary air bubble at first. Shade then empowered it with the spell and guided it down toward the fountain pen on the study desk. The bubble successfully enveloped the pen and lifted it into the air.
The bubble could automatically fly along with Shade's movements, or travel to different places under his control. That was the full extent of the spell's power.
"Although the basic spell Move Object can achieve a similar effect, I still think this Bubble Spell is quite interesting."
Thinking this, Shade continued chewing the pod in his mouth, blew out a larger bubble, and guided it toward the cat.
"Little Mia, don't resist."
He warned her. The cat, who had raised her paws, obediently stood still on the desk. The bubble flew toward her and successfully enveloped the cat as well. As Shade frowned and concentrated on controlling it, the bubble slowly rose with Little Mia inside and floated before him.
When Shade walked forward, the bubble flew forward with him. When he stepped back, it retreated as well.
But Little Mia soon poked it with a paw, bursting the bubble. The cat landed steadily on Shade's shoulder. Even a spell-enhanced bubble could not withstand Little Mia's paws, but Shade was already quite satisfied with the spell.
