Shade briefly explained the matter of the Moon Egg again, mentioning that whether it was cultivated as an Egg or as a seed, it had shown no reaction at all.
Miss Feliana then proposed a new idea:
"I only skimmed through that book, so I don't know whether it truly contains any knowledge that can help you. But based on what I know about Dragons, could it be that what the Egg lacks most is actually time?"
Gina, who had been listening in, suddenly widened her eyes.
"That's right! How did I forget that?"
Hugging her tail, she explained to Shade:
"Hatching Dragon Eggs is an extremely, extremely, extremely lengthy process. The more powerful and ancient the Dragon that laid the Egg, the more so. Although the Egg you mentioned theoretically has no blood relatives, judging by its origins, it is indeed powerful enough.
"The reason it still hasn't shown any reaction may be that not enough time has passed. From a Dragon Egg's perspective, it has only existed for less than two months. That amount of time is nothing at all.
"In even more ancient times, without even having to trace back to the Mythical Epoch, Dragon Eggs laid by Ancient Dragons of the Second Epoch took centuries or even millennia to hatch."
"It needs that long?"
Shade hesitated slightly. He thought of having Emilia accelerate the Egg's time, but felt that would be asking too much of the little elf. His own [Breath of Time] was also incapable of accelerating time by such a vast amount.
