Outmatched

"Something's wrong. Grandma Cassandra's information never mentioned an attack like this."

Shade walked to the window with his sword in hand and reached for the crimson curtains. But just as his hand was about to touch the richly textured fabric, a huge mouth suddenly emerged from the curtains and tried to bite his hand.

"It seems this place has suddenly become hostile toward me."

Shade withdrew his hand, and the curtains returned to normal.

He turned toward the door, only to hear another series of crackling explosions from the 2nd Floor.

"Could it be that whoever arrived before me did something that caused Sin Mansion to undergo further changes?"

Shade did not think he had caused this change, because he truly had done nothing.

"Can you sense anything?"

He asked softly in his heart.

Nothing.

"All right, then."

Shade pursed his lips and decided not to wait in this room any longer. Sin Mansion was displaying its hostility toward him, and there was no telling what might happen if he stayed here. At the very least, his strange intuition told him that leaving this room as soon as possible was the right choice.

He strode to the door and reached for the door handle, but a knocking sound came at that very moment.

There was only the knocking sound, with no voice accompanying it. Shade's outstretched left hand paused, then suddenly pulled back. He took a step away and raised the longsword in his hand.

The knocking continued for over ten seconds before stopping. Then Black Sewage actually flowed in through the gap beneath the door.

The sewage gathered into a puddle in front of the door, and then a bald human head emerged from the black water. The water forming the head was still flowing, making it especially eerie
