Fierce Battle on the Ice

The Ring Arcanists of the Sun Church, who had encountered the Clown by the shore, deliberately shifted the battlefield onto the ice and gradually drew closer to the people from The Truth Society. The Truth Society's Ring Arcanists naturally did not want to make contact with them, so the ice continued extending farther out over the lake until everyone had gathered in the middle of the water.

The light of the three moons illuminated the lake, and spiritual radiance flickered beneath the moonlit night. From the shore, Shade found the scene tranquil yet eerie.

Shade had finally found Mr. Joey Barton. The man who should have been somewhere between The Truth Society and the Church's team had somehow fallen unconscious at the edge of the frozen lake, lying alone beneath the moon, his fate unknown.

As the battlefield moved farther away, everyone was getting farther from him. This was an opportunity for Shade.

Shade opened his coat and tucked Little Mia into the large inner pocket over his chest. After fastening the buttons again, the left side of his chest looked as though it were bulging.

He placed the Youthful Immortality Leaf in his mouth, curled his fingers, and let the returning Red Butterflies land on them. As the butterfly scattered into motes of light, the motes entered Shade's chest, and he felt the power of the Whisper Element.

The essence of the Red Butterflies' power was distortion and sorrow. Shade had to use this power quickly to prevent the Element from affecting him.

He took out his mask and put it on. After preparing the Spellcasting Materials, Shade bent low and carefully emerged from the forest. Raising his head and seeing the group fighting beneath the moon, he jogged onto the ice.
