Seeing black fog bombs flying toward him and knowing he had no time to dodge, Shade simply stopped. He stretched out his left hand, and the fluttering Red Butterflies gathered into a crimson shield, blocking the first wave of attacks. Then he swiftly swung his sword forward one-handed with his right hand. As silver light splashed forth, Night Watchman precisely shattered every black fog orb. When the final sword strike came down, the pitch-black blade aura broke through the White Fog, dissolved the black mist, and was finally caught one-handed by the Earl of Darak of Campbell.
After the sword light and the earl remained locked against each other for a brief two seconds, the blade aura dissipated. The earl's right hand had completely melted away, but quickly regrew. This naturally did not come without a price; his body was becoming increasingly transparent.
"If you become completely transparent, will you lose your sanity entirely? In that case, I won't waste time either."
Shade said this as he lowered his longsword. Behind him, loud bells and a steam whistle sounded from within the White Fog.
Scalding steam mingled with the surrounding White Fog, while the enormous brass ring within the mist became clearer and clearer, as though it were drifting in from afar.
Four-Colored Ling Light shone brightly. As Shade stepped forward, the massive Destiny Ring followed close behind:
"Earl, then there's no need for us to waste time. Please leave!"
As if responding to Shade's words, the swollen earl, who looked like a Corpse Ghoul, let out another miserable howl. The black mist coiling around him swept toward Shade like tentacles, but as the runes of sin flashed with light, the Great Sin Chains flew from his sleeves and swept across, severing those black mists one after another.
