Ms. Martha suddenly laughed, then rose from the sofa:
"My luck today has truly been terrible."
"Ms. Martha, rest assured. Once Gray Gloves finds the real murderer among the three of you, you will naturally be free to leave safely."
Colonel Wood, the only person present who did not know who the real culprit was, said as he moved slightly closer to Ms. Martha. He did not seem to believe that this flamboyantly dressed lady before him was the poisoner.
"No, when I say my luck is bad, I do not mean being forcibly identified by you as the murderer."
The woman folded her left arm across her chest to support her right elbow, holding her right hand beside her ear as she looked at the colonel with seductive eyes:
"I mean, I never expected Princess Margaret Anjou to appear here, and for Earl Sachia to happen to die right in front of her. If not for such bad luck, you would not have forcibly detained me."
Colonel Wood merely smiled without answering. Ms. Martha's eyes swept over the leather holster at his waist before she continued:
"So, according to the plan, there should have been no way for you to find evidence that I poisoned him. But because Margaret Anjou happened to arrive, you skipped over the evidence and directly identified me as the killer. That really is bad luck. Who could have anticipated something like this when making the plan?"
"What? You—"
Colonel Wood was greatly shocked and was about to say something, but Ms. Martha merely waved her raised right hand lightly before him. The captain of the Royal Guards immediately crumpled unconscious onto the floor. The Alchemy Item ring on Ms. Martha's finger presumably had the effect of knocking ordinary people unconscious.
As the
