The physician felt Baron Kahn's body, his expression turning grim when he discovered that the baron's temperature had risen again. His fever was even worse than before.

However, since he had been wounded so recently, the wound had not healed at all. The physician had no way to use bloodletting to lower his temperature.

There was nothing else he could do. He could only soak a piece of linen in cool water and place it on Baron Kahn's head. By then, the baron had completely lost consciousness. The high fever caused his muscles to spasm involuntarily, making him twitch from time to time.

Suddenly, Baron Kahn's hand jerked violently, far more forcefully than it had before.

"Physician! What's happening to him? What's wrong with him?" Lady Kahn asked anxiously as she looked at her husband.

"My lady, I don't know. Perhaps the devil has seized Baron Kahn. Without the Holy Father's blessing, Baron Kahn may end up joining the devil!" the physician babbled. He had no idea what had caused Baron Kahn to become like this.

Although many people died from infected wounds, no one understood what caused the fever brought on by such inflammation. The physician could only use a seemingly reasonable but utterly absurd excuse to fob off Lady Kahn.

"Damn you! Aren't you a physician? At a time like this, it's your job to help Kahn escape this peril!" Lady Kahn was furious. Her husband had already become like this, yet the physician claimed he was powerless.

As Baron Kahn's convulsions grew more severe, the wet linen that had been placed on his head fell off. Several people nearby hurriedly pinned down his limbs to keep him from injuring himself.

"Baron Kahn's body is burning hot!" a knight exclaimed. By then, Baron Kahn's temperature had far exceeded
