Mr. Truman's first campaign target was actually relatively easy, though not quite that easy!
Was winning a war easy?
The people of Gefra used to think it was.
Before Peng Joe had ever fought anyone in a decisive battle at sea, they had thought so too!
Times were always changing. Although, judging by the military technology displayed by various countries so far, the Federation had a strong chance of winning, who could guarantee that the Federation would definitely win?
No. No one could guarantee it!
Perhaps the people of Gefra had some secret weapon they had not revealed. Perhaps Peng Joe's Sea Fortress was even more terrifying than imagined. Too many unknown factors troubled people. No one could guarantee that this war would ultimately end according to the Federation's wishes.
The issue of Social Insurance reform was even more complicated. The problem came not only from the capitalists, but also from the Federal Government itself!
The problem did not lie with any one person, but with the Federal Government's Social Insurance system! If the required contribution period was shortened, it would mean people would not need to work as long before receiving their pensions—in other words, everyone would pay five to ten fewer years of contributions.
The pension system could still keep running at its current scale, but what about the future? As the policy was enacted and the reform completed, less and less money would enter pension accounts, while expenditures would remain unchanged.
Would there come a day when the Federal Government suddenly discovered that the account used to pay pensions... had run out of money? As for infrastructure...
That was an even bigger problem. The Federation's infrastructure was actually far from complete. Never mind that the Federation appeared to be one of the more developed and wealthy countries
