Life is Incredibly Precious
Long ago, Mr. Truman asked Lin Qi a question—how to make the Galil, a currency, instantly lose its value.
During the process of establishing diplomatic relations between the Federal and the Nagaril, the Nagaril proposed a plan to peg the Galil's Exchange Rate to the Federal Sol, allowing it to fluctuate with the Federal Sol's Exchange Rate.
I don't know who gave the Nagaril People this incredibly foolish suggestion. It's impossible to even imagine. If we really did follow their idea and anchored a constant Exchange Rate between the two sides, the Nagaril People could simply print money like crazy and make the whole nation rich.
On the contrary, the Federal would be dragged into an abyss from which there would be no chance of ever climbing out, and this was something that could never be agreed to.
But Lin Qi offered another suggestion. He didn't directly reject it; instead, he agreed to the Nagaril People's request, but with a condition: the Federal would be responsible for printing the Galil's paper.
This time, the Nagaril People did not agree. If the printing of currency were handed over to the Federal, even if Galil punctured the Sol, it would be of no value. The Issuing Rights currency would be in the hands of others, and they would turn around and control Nagaril's economic lifeline.
Although the exchange did not materialize, it provided Mr. Truman, the President, and all the representatives and people from the Big Six Banks with a potential objective.
In conjunction with Lin Qi's various discussions about "economic construction" and "financial plunder" war models, a plan was eventually devised in discussions in which Lin Qi also participated—to completely eliminate the Galil, a worthless currency, from the international financial environment.
This led to the question Mr. Truman asked Lin Qi: how to make the Galil, a foreign-issued independent currency, lose its value in a very short time.
Lin Qi offered two ideas at the time. The first was a currency competition system, in which Nagaril would agree that the Federal Sol would be one of the legal and regulated currencies in their country.
With the growing strength of Federal Sol in the international market and the increasing number of Federal employers in Nagaril, people will soon naturally abandon Galil and switch to Federal Sol.
This process was devoid of any hostility; everything happened naturally, and all of this followed a rule—it was the people's own choice.
Without confrontation or antagonism, the natural process of elimination meant that even the Central Government of the Nagaril United Kingdom could not find any fault with the Federal.
However, this plan also has a problem: it takes too long, possibly several years or even more than a decade, before Galil can be phased out of history, and there may even be some remnants left in the end.
This method was not well-received by the people at the meeting. Time is money, and several years or even decades is worth countless amounts of money. They were unwilling to waste so much time and money.
Therefore, a second solution was proposed.
"Then let this country perish in name only..."
This was Lin Qi's answer back then, and even now, some people would probably break out in a cold sweat just thinking about it! "If all the regions and provinces of the Nagaril United Kingdom were to declare independence and declare Galil an illegal currency, using only the Federal Sol as the legal tender, then only a few places, or even just one place, would continue to use Galil throughout the entire territory of Nagaril."
"If we then help their people overthrow their corrupt regime, bringing about a new life and change to the entire country, Galil will become history in an instant!"
When people looked at Lin Qi, who was smiling and talking eloquently, only one word kept floating in their minds: "Devil".
He was like a demon, chilling to the bone, but it must be said that his plan was so good that it passed in the secret meeting with almost no obstacles.
However, before that, a complete plan is needed to address some peripheral issues. For example, the Federal Sol could be used to erode the entire Nagaril currency market, allowing people a stable transition period instead of suddenly telling them bad news that their currency is worthless.
We need to give people a chance, an adjustment period, so that they can feel and participate in this process. This way, when Galil is phased out, the lower classes of society won't cause huge problems.
Secondly, the Ruling Class willing to stand with the Federal should be given a chance to exchange their Galil for Federal Sol. This way, at least half of the Nagaril ruling class will not suffer losses in the subsequent actions, nor will they be forced to stand with the royal family.
Finally, the Federal also needed to transfer the losses to appease the emotions of ordinary people who held Galil and the local Ruling Class who held large amounts of Galil — the Privileged Class had already been almost completely purged in another plan, which also saved the Federal a lot of money.
When the interests of the lower and Upper Class are protected, the Federal is actually losing money. But that's okay, the Federal has ways to transfer the losses, and pushing up the exchange Exchange Rate of the Galil is the best way.
By enticing speculators worldwide to join this game of musical chairs, which was a trap from the start, the Federal easily shifted the losses.
At the same time, some spontaneous international exchange activities will not affect the Federal currency market. These are just spontaneous actions by other people. The currency that is in circulation is still in circulation, and the losses that are to be received have nothing to do with the Federal.
With everything in place, the final assault began!
The day after the Provincial Governor Drag declared his province's independence, two more provinces declared independence from the Nagaril United Kingdom. At the same time, the rulers of the three provinces that had already declared independence announced the abolition of everything remaining in the Nagaril United Kingdom and began to promote "De-Nagaril United Kingdom-ization".
They denied the legitimacy of the Central Government's regime, and presented some historical manuscripts, notes, and documents to the International Community to justify the legitimacy and rationality of their declaration of independence.
For example, in these documents, these provinces were originally regions ruled by large clan rulers, but later had to join the United Kingdom for various reasons.
Now they are simply correcting their past mistakes and disengaging from the United Kingdom.
Since they are no longer a member of the United Kingdom, the Galil, a currency issued by the Central Government, is no longer recognized. The Galil has been abolished throughout the province, and the Federal Sol is temporarily used as the only legal tender.
As soon as these announcements were made, the Galil plummeted by more than 30 percent. At this point, it could be said that the money was essentially locked up in the hands of all holders.
Although some people believed that the Federal Government and the United Development Company still held a large amount of Galil, and that they would not really sit idly by and watch these currencies become worthless, the Federal Government's subsequent actions made people truly realize that the Galil had no future.
On the morning of the fourth day after the incident, the Federal Government's International Press Office held a press conference to address some issues within the Nagaril United Kingdom. Surprisingly, the person hosting this press conference was none other than Mr. Truman himself.
This is actually quite normal, after all, Mr. Truman is currently the First Chief Officer of the International Affairs/Policy Research Office, and the events in Nagaril largely overlap with his work, so it's not surprising that he is the host and spokesperson for this press conference.
"Thank you all for attending this press conference. Today we have some serious matters to announce, so I'll get straight to the point..."
Mr. Truman glanced down at the manuscript in his hand and said in a slightly heavy voice, "Five days ago, a horrific incident occurred in our friendly neighbor, the Nagaril United Kingdom. Some protesters from the public expressed their discontent in front of the royal palace, and were subsequently dispersed and attacked by the royal army of the Nagaril United Kingdom."
"More than 83 people have died so far, including 12 who died from their injuries. In addition, more than 1,000 people have been injured."
"After the tragedy Nagaril royal family did not immediately disclose to the public the specific cause of the tragedy or the subsequent handling of the situation. We learned a shocking piece of news from some survivors: the royal family is still arresting the participants who appeared in the parade in front of the palace that day."
"Subsequently, leaders of some regions, dissatisfied with the tyranny of the monarchy, declared independence from the United Kingdom."
"As a friendly nation of the Bayer Federation, we should have provided some assistance to the Nagaril United Kingdom Nagalil when they encounter problems, but there are some things we cannot do."
"The Bayer Federation has always been a country that upholds the spirit of freedom and pursues equality and justice. We attach great importance to the personality and social rights of every citizen, and we will not and dare not trample on the legitimate rights of the people."
"Therefore we will not help the Central Government of the Nagaril United Kingdom to suppress the people through military or political actions."
"Everyone's life is precious. Here we call on the King of the Nagaril United Kingdom and the rulers of the Central Government to lay down their weapons and violence and resolve the dispute through friendly and equal consultation and negotiation. This is the best way."
"At the same time, we also want to inform all the people and rulers of Nagaril that our government is extremely concerned about the safety of our citizens' lives and property overseas. We cannot guarantee that we will not resort to force or other means to resolve any behavior that dares to infringe upon or harm the safety of our citizens overseas!"
Mr. Truman paused briefly, put down his notes, and said, "Ladies and gentlemen, you may ask questions now!"
