"Impossible!"
After returning to the Federal and handing over his work, Lin Qi was taken to his office by Mr. Truman had rushed over.
As soon as he sat down, Mr. Truman began to discuss his views on two opposing viewpoints in society: a Multi-Party Electoral System and a United Council System. However, Lin Qi gave a very firm objection as soon as he mentioned the Multi-Party Electoral System.
Standing in front of Lin Qi, Mr. Truman, half-sitting and half-leaning on the edge of the desk, held a cup of coffee in his hand. He looked at Lin Qi seriously and said, "I've discussed this with everyone for a while, and we actually prefer the first option. I don't understand why you are so opposed to it."
"Based on our discussions, we can support two or three parties that are aligned with our position, and one party that has developed on its own. This would not only demonstrate our respect for Nagaril as a country, but also allow us to maintain control of the country as much as possible."
He shrugged, took a sip of coffee, and said, "You know..." He swallowed the coffee and his Adam's apple bobbed. "In the Federal Capital, the election results are controlled. I believe that in Nagaril, the United Development Company can control the outcome of every election."
"We can easily replace those who don't listen to us without causing any public backlash. More importantly, we can do it beautifully without any 'competitors.' You understand what I mean, right?"
Lin Qi nodded after listening. Mr. Truman meant that as long as the United Development Company could control the election and its outcome through various means, it wouldn't really matter which system Nagaril adopted.
Multi-Party Electoral System is even more necessary for the Federal government because United Development Company can control the election results.
It is obvious which has a greater impact on society and even the world: changing a dictator or changing a political party. Changing a dictator, apart from the people of the Federal themselves who would see it as a just world, would be seen by everyone else as the most powerful evidence of interference in the internal affairs of another country.
However, changing the ruling party is much more moderate. If one party is disobedient, another will be replaced. At the same time, the original parties that were born freely, such as the Nagaril National Congress Party, will also join the multi-party electoral system. This fully reflects the Federal's respect for Nagaril's independent system.
But Lin Qi had a different opinion.
"We all know that not interfering in the internal affairs of other countries is just a formality..." He ruthlessly exposed the "lie" of Mr. Truman and even the entire Upper Class class of the Federal.
Mr. Truman wasn't angry or annoyed; he just looked at Lin Qi, signaling him to continue.
"The biggest drawback of multi-party governance for us is that it allows one or more political ideologies to spread in society, which is very dangerous. What's even more dangerous is that we will provide ammunition for the enemy!"
"That..." Lin Qi said, frowning. He had forgotten the name of that political party.
Mr. Truman raised his arm and pointed at him, as a reminder, "National Congress Party."
"Yes, the Nagaril National Congress Party. I haven't met them, but I think they are very likely the evolution of Nagaril Youth Party. It's just that Youth Party ruined their reputation, so they've changed their name."
"However, in any case, the Nagaril National Congress Party will not be able to gain control in the short term if we were to have a Multi-Party Electoral System."
"I believe we can control all of this; we have extensive experience in this area..."
Lin Qi, and capitalists across the Federal government, have a lot to say on how capital controls and manipulates elections.
They can control job positions to require their employees to vote for candidates the company favors, which may sound unbelievable, but it is precisely one of the most important aspects of Federal Enterprise Culture and electoral culture.
Whenever there are similar events, companies use their employees' names to have them donate to the candidates' election offices or provide other conveniences.
Employees only need to follow the company's arrangements to receive free food, holidays, and some subsidies.
It's not that no one wants to rebel against such an unreasonable system; for example, they have their own supported parties and candidates, and they don't want to elect someone they don't like.
These people often lose their jobs and then move to another region—to work and live in a place where the party they support is mainstream, only in this way can they gain "freedom".
However, moving to another state and rebuilding a work and life in an unfamiliar environment is not an easy task. Even without considering the difference in the cost of living between the two states, simply getting a job from the union is not so easy.
Moving to a new place could mean three to five months or even longer without income, which would be devastating for the Federal Working Class who don't have a habit of saving money, and they could also miss out on their Pension Insurance.
Various social systems restrict the number of times a worker can change jobs. If he changes too many times, he will have no security after retirement. So, whether a person wants to choose someone he doesn't like or not, he has to do so.
He has to consider his own life, his family's life, his descendants' life, and his life after retirement. Life makes ideals simple and realistic.
With the help of Federal capitalists, one "voting bloc" after another emerged. Is the one-sided situation really a manifestation of freedom? Perhaps only those people who have begun to get used to this kind of society would think so.
This approach also applies to Nagaril. In a rapidly developing society, one can easily be left behind if one is not careful. If people do not want their work and life to fall too far behind others, their best option is to submit to the capitalists' arrangements.
But this raises a new question: if the Nagaril National Congress Party is unable to challenge for power for an extended period, will they do something different? "They may very well introduce some extreme ideologies, or various complex ideas that contradict the current state of society, into society. Once these ideas capture the attention of a group of people who are not accepted by society, their subsequent development will be difficult for us to control."
"Truman, you and I both know very well that the most dangerous thing in this world is the human mind, and what this group has done before has proven that they are capable of doing so, and there are signs of it."
"What we should do is restrain them, not give them an opportunity to demonstrate their thoughts and values!"
Mr. Truman pondered seriously, his brow furrowed, somewhat puzzled. "Why don't we have any problems?"
"Because we are all on the same side, but over there, there is an enemy among us!"
Lin Qi essentially convinced Mr. Truman that the slogans previously put forward by the Youth Party, such as "take charge of yourselves," had rapidly influenced Nagaril society and a large number of young people.
It is a society with a dual mechanism of secular government and theocracy. Once people's minds are freed from constraints, which is of course an inevitable process, the Federal is considering promoting the idea of removing superstition from Nagaril. This would better liberate Nagaril's workforce and provide more high-quality labor for Federal enterprises.
Once the mental constraints are removed, chaotic thoughts will sweep through the crowd like a storm, and some people will stand firmly against the Federal, which is not in the Federal's interest.
"But if we push for United Council System, you'll still have a hard time solving this problem," Mr. Truman shook his head. "How do we deal with the Nagaril People's Congress Party? It will be a problem if they become the ruling class in a region. How do we ensure that their ideas and actions don't continue to expand outwards?"
"They don't have power yet. Once we recognize their status and they become members of the Joint Council, with power and weapons in their hands, they will be able to do far more than they can do now!"
Lin Qi looked at him strangely, his expression somewhat comical. "Why acknowledge them?"
After he finished speaking, he explained his thoughts, "Why should we recognize that some bandits who killed the King have legitimate political status? I think that's the biggest joke I've heard this year!"
"The King and the Royal Family of the Nagaril United Kingdom are recognized and equal rulers of the country. Now that these people have been murdered by a mob, why should we recognize the legitimacy of these mobs?"
"I think what we should do now is to eliminate these people. You know, I was very saddened by the passing of the King and Queen, but I heard that there are still members of the royal family who are alive. Perhaps we can select someone from among them who is capable of inheriting the spirit and power of the royal family. What do you think?"
Mr. Truman's expression was also exaggerated after hearing this. He put down his coffee cup, turned around, walked to his desk, sat down, picked up a pen, and started writing and drawing. "I never thought of such an idea. You're a fucking genius!"
It wasn't that he hadn't thought about it, but rather that the actions of the Nagaril National Congress Party largely aligned with what the Federal Government had previously wanted to do—to gather some people to rebel against the government, guaranteeing to overthrow the government and establish a new regime. It was just that what should have been done by those who had been bought off by the Federal government was done by the Nagaril National Congress Party members, to the point that their thinking hadn't yet shifted.
Lin Qi's words gave Mr. Truman a very important reminder: if it was their own people who overthrew the monarchy, then it must have been caused by the tyranny of the monarchy. The righteous and angry people standing on the ruins of the palace and the corpses of the monarchy gave the country a new life.
If the one who overthrows the monarchy is not one of our own, then it must be a wicked mob that has overthrown the monarchy's righteous rule. Wouldn't it be more in line with the Federal's international image of being full of justice to wipe out these mobs, avenge the deceased monarchy, and select an heir from among the royal family members to inherit the monarchy's power?
