It felt like an axe had split open a crack in my head.

Truman slowly opened his eyes. In the darkness, he couldn't see much, except for a vaguely visible ceiling.

The soft mattress beneath him gave him a sense of comfort. He really liked soft beds; the one he was on was even better and more comfortable than the one at home.

Some memories from before he fell into a deep sleep began to rush back to him. He then sat up abruptly and gasped for breath.

The movement was too large, causing a tearing pain in his head. He couldn't help but raise his hand to his forehead, squinted his eyes, and took two deep breaths, which slightly relieved the uncomfortable pain.

"I can't drink so much in the future..." he told himself. Everyone knows that drinking is not only bad for your health, but it can also lead to accidents. But sometimes when emotions run high, it's hard to control yourself.

Yesterday...?

He suddenly looked towards the bedside. In the fragmented memories that kept flashing through his mind, he realized that he had really gone crazy last night. Even now, thinking about it made him blush.

Fortunately, he was alone in bed, not the girl, which relieved him.

Mr. Truman is a married man with a wife and children. For Federal politicians, having a stable family is an important factor in climbing the corporate ladder; no one can avoid it.

He may not necessarily love his wife; in this era, even for those in power, the word "love" carries too heavy a burden.

He may not truly love his wife that much, but he feels it's his responsibility to maintain the relationship.

He didn't want to ruin things by drinking too much, and thankfully the worst didn't happen.

He turned on the bedside lamp in the dim light.

His watch and other belongings were on the bedside table. He picked up his watch and glanced at it; it wasn't even five o'clock yet. He had slept soundly all night. He had been really exhausted lately, and yesterday's relaxation had left him both exhausted and refreshed.

He didn't get up immediately, but leaned against the headboard, looking up as he recalled some things from his memory.

He thought of his conversation with Lin Qi, Lin Qi ideal world he found interesting and novel, a world that a capitalist shouldn't want.

After feeling that his body had recovered from a terrible situation, he got up and went to the bathroom. As the hot water fell on him, he also pondered what his ideal world would be like.

At 9:30 a. m., he appeared outside the president's office.

Today's Truman seems somewhat different from before. In the past, people perceived Mr. Truman as a very serious person who rarely smiled, making him seem unapproachable and somewhat stern.

But today, he always had a smile on his face and took the initiative to greet everyone who passed by. Although this made some people feel a little uncomfortable, it was not a bad thing after all. At least he didn't swear, right?

"Come in..."

He was summoned after waiting for a short two minutes outside the president's office.

As soon as he entered the office, the president walked over with a smile and gently pressed his arm. "I heard something very interesting, you know, about you."

His purpose in speaking first was to prevent Mr. Truman from having the chance to speak first, because he didn't know what Mr. Truman would say, or whether he would express himself in the same rigid and stubborn way as before. If so, then everyone would be in an awkward situation.

The importance of conglomerates to the president is undeniable, and they are indispensable to the overall social structure.

Many large-scale social projects, regardless of type, are simply beyond the reach of ordinary organizations or individuals; only conglomerates can afford them.

The president was well aware that the conglomerates had indeed had some negative impacts on society, but he could not afford to lose them.

Truman's ideas can sometimes be very perplexing. Everyone wants conglomerates to become docile sheep, but is that even possible?

Mr. Truman, whose chance to speak had been stolen, paused for a moment. "Me?" He suddenly became a little nervous. "What interesting thing?"

"Someone saw you in Red High Heels ..." the president added, "It was that Strip Club you went to, you know, but thankfully we handled the aftermath well."

After saying that, the president smiled and said that the people in Bu Peien were very concerned about two things: money and politics.

A survey was once conducted to determine which region in the entire Federal was the most politically sensitive. The survey method involved providing the respondents with the headshots of twenty politicians, ranging from somewhat famous to very famous, and seeing how many of them they could recognize.

The Mid-West region was rated as the least politically conscious, while Bu Peien was rated as the most politically conscious, where at least half of the politicians could be recognized by any random passerby, which is quite remarkable.

This also means that people can spot him and watch him having fun with those dancers.

Hearing this, Mr. Truman became somewhat embarrassed.

Fortunately, this was just a rhetoric from the president, using embarrassment to shut him up and prevent him from saying anything too harsh. He patted Mr. Truman on the shoulder and said, "What brings you here? I remember I gave you a long vacation. You can relax and not push yourself too hard."

Some things can be said by some people, and some things cannot be said by others. Mr. Truman coughed lightly and sighed slightly, but his face quickly returned to a smile. "Mr. President, I'm here to apologize to you."

"An apology?" The sudden "apology" left the president somewhat bewildered. He mistakenly assumed that Mr. Truman was apologizing for his appearance at the Strip Club the previous night.

While maintaining a positive image for government employees is important in some respects, going to Strip Club is not a crime. The Federal allows these places to exist, and it's a normal form of consumption, so there's nothing wrong with it.

The president patted him on the shoulder with deep feeling. "I can understand. You don't need to apologize. Men do need to relax sometimes..." He leaned closer to Truman's subordinate and whispered, "Actually, I used to go there sometimes."

Truman:???

He was momentarily dazed before coming to his senses. "I'm not apologizing for this incident. I'm apologizing for yelling at you before. I shouldn't have done that. I regret doing something stupid."

He yelled at the president when the president announced he was on leave, right in the office. When people are hurt, they feel like the whole world has betrayed them, and so did he.

He felt that if the president could stand on his side, then he would undoubtedly be able to withstand the pressure from the conglomerates. He said that the president's compromise just to win the election was a sign of weakness, and these words were indeed excessive.

He's here today to apologize for the things he said.

The president was surprised; he hadn't expected Truman to apologize. He knew his subordinate well; he was from the military and had the toughness of a soldier, so sometimes he would say some outrageous things, but the president never took it to heart.

He had never apologized before, but this time, he actually did, which surprised and delighted the president. "Are you trying to scare me?" the president asked.

"Scare me?" Mr. Truman paused for a moment, then quickly shook his head. "No, I also want to apologize for what I did in the past..."

The fact that someone is willing to apologize means that more things can be discussed. In front of the president, he apologized for all the "mistakes" he had made and clearly recognized that winning the election and the stability of the domestic social structure were far more important than anything else.

This viewpoint aligns well with the President's, especially regarding the issue of winning the election, which is the core of the President's interest group.

"I'm glad you can understand these issues. I also know that the problems you mentioned are indeed problems that we need to find solutions to, but to solve these problems, we must have power."

"Without power, we can do nothing but express our opinions on television like clowns, which nobody cares about, and attack each other with equally down-on-their-luck political enemies."

"Truman, we have no money, we can't confront those conglomerates head-on. All we can rely on is power. Only by holding onto power tightly can what you're thinking of ever come true!"

After receiving positive feedback, the president also made a slight statement, showing he was very sensible. His words did indeed gain Mr. Truman's approval, especially regarding the issue of power.

Only with power can you realize your ideals and ambitions.

Having no power, all one can do is rot on the sofa in front of the TV and in junk food.

Some people study day after day for over a decade in order to have a bright future. Now is the time for him to "learn." He must hide his sharp exterior that can hurt others, blend in with these people, and wait until he truly grasps power, real power.

"Mr. President, my recklessness and impulsiveness have caused a lot of trouble for our work going forward, and I want to..." he paused, a somewhat unpleasant smile on his face, "To express my apologies to those people. What do you think?"

The people he was referring to were the high-ranking executives of the conglomerates whose interests he had threatened. When they took action, he backed down, resolving the conflict before things completely turned sour, so that everyone could be happy.

The president's face showed surprise, but it quickly turned to delight. "Don't push yourself..."

"I didn't force myself. People should repent for the mistakes they have made. I realized my mistake and I should admit it."

The president patted him on the shoulder. "You really didn't force yourself?" After receiving an affirmative answer from Mr. Truman, he nodded. "I'll make the arrangements for you. Trust me, I will absolutely not let them make things difficult for you..."
