Kasa Everfrost
A long, drawn-out horn sounded.
Sunlight pierced through thin clouds, a cold wind howled, and the glaciers covered in white frost and snow shimmered with a sharp light.
This is the Vahalla Glacier, known to the world as the "Frozen Forbidden Land," and the region where the Frost Giant have lived for thousands of years.
Inside the crevices of the glacier, there are beds made of solid ice, and scattered with clothes made of animal hides, long spears made of bone, and rough blades made of stone—that is the gathering place of the Everfrost Tribe.
In the glacial crevasses where the Frost Giant gather, there is almost no sunlight in winter. Since crops cannot grow, they can only keep the livestock they plunder for food and hunt in the tundra and snow-capped mountains. As a result, Mammoth are kept outside the ice caves, and there are even a few Tundra Striding Dragon.
"That was... the sound of a horn?"
"By Solem, that is the Everfrost Horn!"
The Frost Giant, wearing a horned helmet, raised his double-bladed axe, feeling the resonance of his bloodline, and roared excitedly.
He was tall and strong, over eight meters tall, with glacial blue skin covered in scars, a pale white beard like a patch of frost, and frost and icicles clinging to his body.
He is the current chieftain of the Everfrost Tribe, Kasa the Bone Breaker Everfrost.
Kasa was the most ferocious and powerful Fighter in the tribe. He was in his prime, only a little over eighty years old. He had once broken the neck of an adult White Dragon with his bare hands and was known by his tribe as the "Bone Breaker". All the Frost Giant Warrior were in awe of him.
However, Kasa also had a problem: he couldn't find the Horde's sacred relic— the Everfrost Horn.
The loss of the Everfrost Horn occurred more than six hundred years ago. The despicable traitor known as the "Traitor of Death" stole the relic, used its power to travel to the south, and eventually defected to the humans.
It's important to know that, in their natural state, Frost Giant have an average lifespan of only about 230 years.
In the past six hundred years, nine chieftains have died one after another. In addition to continuous small-scale raids, the Everfrost Tribe has launched thirteen large-scale invasions of the southern humans, known as the "Frost Scourge," but has never found the sacred object that represents the supreme glory of their ancestors.
The Everfrost Tribe now has 532 adult Frost Giant. These powerful Frost Giant are almost emptying the Great Glacier. Kasa originally planned to mobilize the entire tribe to invade in ten years, but unexpectedly the Everfrost Horn was sounded.
"This matter is extremely important."
"We should ask Elder Nuer."
Kasa arrived at the deepest part of the ice cave, in the most secluded and frigid place, and found a special Frost Giant.
Even the usually impulsive Kasa suppressed his excitement and tentatively asked, "Elder Nuer, is it time yet?"
"Yes."
"We will reclaim the sacred relics and reclaim the glory of our ancestors."
The voice was hoarse and low, yet it conveyed a sense of determination.
This Frost Giant, known as "Elder Nuer," was hunched over with an aged face. Strange runes were etched on his pale blue skin, and upon closer inspection, one would find that they were almost identical to the runes on the Everfrost Horn.
He is the shaman of the Everfrost Tribe — Nuer Wooden Staff Everfrost, who is said to be 374 years old. He has lived through the rule of five tribal chiefs, personally participated in six invasions of the south, and is the most revered Frost Giant in the tribe. It is said that he can communicate with the long-dormant Frost Giant God Solem.
Nur, supporting himself with his wooden cane, stood up shakily, his eyes closed and one hand outstretched, as if sensing the chill in the air.
"I can feel it."
"The power of the Everfrost Horn guides me."
"That is the call of our ancestors, the great Lord Korba is calling us."
Kasa was overjoyed. His hand holding the double-edged axe trembled. He was about to realize the tribe's long-cherished wish of hundreds of years. He would become the most accomplished chieftain in a thousand years.
"That's wonderful, Elder Nuer!"
"I will gather all my people and wage war against those humans in the south to reclaim our sacred artifacts! This time I will surely avenge our past humiliation and restore the glory of our Korba!"
Nur echoed in a low voice, "Yes, the people have waited too long..."
"But..."
The aged frost Frost Giant, weathered by time, closed his eyes again, his body trembling slightly as if he had witnessed something horrifying.
"I also saw... a natural disaster. A predetermined natural disaster."
"A natural disaster?"
Kasa was somewhat puzzled.
Nur frowned, pondered for a moment, and then slowly replied, "Yes, a natural disaster. I don't know what this omen represents. It might be a group of humans, a giant dragon, or something else entirely."
Kasa laughed heartily, casually picked up the double-edged axe, and said confidently, "Elder Nuer, you're overthinking it."
"What natural disasters could there be for us? You should know that we Frost Giant are known as the ' Frost Scourge ' by the southern humans. Even dragons can have their necks snapped by my own hand."
A glint of confidence flashed in his eyes.
"We are the ones who bring disaster to others; no one ever dares to mess with us!"
"I hope so."
Nur remained noncommittal, but with the support of the Frost Giant's attendants, he walked out unsteadily.
"Kasa, now that you have made your decision, inform your people. The people of the south have enjoyed peace for far too long. Another sacred conquest is about to begin, and you should know that this is the first time during your tenure."
"Yes, Elder Nuer."
Compared to Nur's Yun Danfengqing after several campaigns, Kasa appeared extremely excited, almost unable to contain his joy.
It should be noted that the spoils obtained from a successful large-scale conquest by the Frost Giant can last for decades. This is a precious opportunity for the Frost Giant live on barren glaciers, and a symbol of the achievements of successive chieftains.
"Reclaim the Everfrost Horn!"
"Kill all the people in the South! Loot them all!"
Standing atop the glacier, Kasa raised his double-edged axe with one arm and shouted.
The hundreds of Frost Giant below raised their various weapons and roared and howled with excitement.
The Frost Giant certainly longed to restore the glory of their ancestors, but compared to these ethereal things, they seemed more interested in killing and robbing all the wealthy Southerners.
Plunder is an instinct ingrained in the Frost Giant. Unlike their kind-hearted relatives such as the Cloud Giant and Storm Giant, the Frost Giant, who live in the icy wilderness, see power as everything.
"I will lead my people to reclaim the Everfrost Horn and everything we once had."
"Everything that stands in our way will be crushed!"
Kasa looked down at the boiling crowd Everfrost his people, gripped his double-edged axe, Bone Breaker made a silent resolution.
