Okaglar Battle (4)
Even Born Battle Maniac wouldn't dare to be careless when facing a mini-boss of this level.
"Roar!"
The Born Battle Maniac looked up to the sky and roared angrily.
His veins bulged all over his body, his muscles bulged out from under his skin like blocks of iron, thick steam and white mist spewed from his pores, and even his eyes turned bloodshot. Extreme anger filled every inch of his body.
Path of the Berserker: Fury
Even this kind of monster—
"They probably couldn't withstand a cavalry charge that was gaining speed."
Trischka stared intently at the raging "monster" in the distance, gripping his longsword even tighter.
He leaned slightly forward on his horse and continued to charge, extending his longsword forward in a thrusting stance. As his speed increased, invisible magical fluctuations arose, and a metal pole several meters long extended from the hilt of the sword, making it resemble a lance.
This is the weapon specially crafted for him by the Southern Magical Craft Master—the [Sword of the Glorious Knight], a work of art for cavalry.
"That's it, pierce him!"
"Evil monster, on behalf of Grand Duke Leo, I hereby grant you death!"
With a fierce shout, Trischka rode his galloping warhorse and charged forward with unstoppable momentum, his sword aimed directly at the heart of the Born Battle Maniac.
"Whoosh!"
However, his sword struck empty air.
"How is that possible?"
Trischka's expression changed drastically, and he quickly looked up.
But then, bathed in sunlight, the monster leaped high into the air, raising its giant axe and cleaving down with a powerful strike.
Whoosh—boom!
First came the howling wind, then the sound of an axe blade slicing through flesh, followed by the sound of it striking the ground.
The warhorse remained standing, but it had been cleaved in two, blood splattering everywhere.
However, Trischka, with his exceptional reflexes, jumped off his horse just before the giant axe was about to strike, rolling several times on the ground.
Trischka, panting heavily, knelt on the ground, supporting himself with his longsword, staring solemnly at the "monster" not far away and his own pitiful two pieces of warhorse.
"Huff, huff"
"How is this possible? How can a monster of this size be so agile?"
The Born Battle Maniac pulled the axe, which was deeply embedded in the ground, turned around, and grinned ferociously. "You missed?"
"War Maniac Bro, are you taking on the boss one-on-one again?"
"No wonder he's a bald man."
A player watching from the sidelines smashed the head of an Alliance soldier who was sneaking up on him from behind with a hammer, and didn't forget to make a casual joke.
"Get out of the way, don't bother me while I'm fighting, or I'll take you down too. This little boss is worth a lot of money, we can't let him get away."
The Born Battle Maniac waved his hand dismissively, exhaled a breath of hot air, and picked up his axe, ready to make a comeback.
Trischka couldn't understand their conversation or their strange vocabulary, but he could sense the arrogance and unintentional contempt in their tone, which didn't seem to be directed at an enemy.
To put it in a way he could understand, it was like a group of noble children playing and hunting rabbits.
They discussed whose archery skills were better and whose aim was more accurate, and which rabbit's fur was shinier and more suitable to be made into a fur hat.
And I am that wild rabbit.
Immediately, the youngest Earl in the the North felt an unprecedented humiliation, and anger burned fiercely in his chest. He had never been treated like this before, not even in the face of such powerful beings.
"Damn monster"
I'll show you what happens if you underestimate me!
He raised his longsword again and charged toward the monster with light and agile steps.
The heavy axe came hurtling through the air again. A slight glancing blow could have meant being cut in half at the waist, but Trischka, with his superb combat skills, controlled the distance, letting the axe blade graz his body, and at the same time using the aftershock of the axe's strike to thrust his sword forward.
"Whoosh—"
Scales and blood flew everywhere as the sharp sword sliced open the monster's chest, leaving a deep wound.
Seeing that he was being injured, the Born Battle Maniac retreated, creating distance, and using the momentum, swung his giant axe, creating a storm of axe blades that surrounded him.
"When--"
The sound of metal clashing could be heard.
The giant axe struck Trischka's body, but was blocked by the golden light membrane that appeared on his armor.
However, the power carried by the giant axe was too great. As the golden light membrane suddenly shattered, Trischka also sent flying backward.
However, the [Levitation Spell attached to Trischka's boots allowed him to stabilize himself in mid-air.
Immediately afterwards, he lightly touched the ground with his toes and leaped down from mid-air, landing directly on top of the still spinning Born Battle Maniac.
The blade of his longsword suddenly changed, forming a perfect cross shape.
With a resolute expression, Trischka gripped his longsword tightly with both hands, aimed at his target, and plunged it straight down.
"Whoosh!"
The sharp cross-shaped longsword pierced straight down from the top of the "monster's" head, like skewering meat, piercing through its skull and neck together.
Just before the screen went black, the Born Battle Maniac used his last strength to mutter to himself, "Next time... I'll never use Crippling Strike again."
Immediately afterwards, he collapsed.
It was another language that Trischka couldn't understand.
Standing atop the monster's massive body, Earl Trischka drew his blood- and brain-soaked sword and raised it high. The blade gleamed coldly in the sunlight, and the tattered lion-head cloak behind him fluttered wildly.
"Everyone, did you see that?"
"The monsters of the Embers of the Burned Kingdom are also made of flesh and blood; they can die and be defeated!"
"Scania People, do not be afraid. This is the land we live on, and we can drive them out!"
Suddenly, a dazzling Beams shot out.
Trischka dodged the attack with a quick reflex, but the attack method seemed familiar to him, as if he had seen it somewhere before.
"Such Beams"
"How could this be? This, this is impossible!"
Suddenly, Trischka's expression changed drastically, and a terrible guess came to his mind.
He turned his head stiffly, looking into the distance—the direction from which the Beams had come from.
However, reality was just as magical as Trischka had guessed. There stood the familiar blond figure, surrounded by monsters, raising his silver sword and pointing it at him with the same unwavering expression.
"Andre?"
"You are the son of Grand Duke Leo, a descendant of the Bosque family, and the noble blood of Rossel flows in your veins!"
"Andre Bosk! How could you be there? How could you betray your bloodline!"
Trischka's voice was filled with disbelief.
As a young man highly valued by Grand Duke Leo, he grew up with the third son of Bosque from a young age, and the two had a very good relationship.
Both had traveled in the South and were of similar age, thus sharing much in common. They also held similar views on the political system of the the North. However, their next meeting was unexpected, on the brutal battlefield, and even as enemies.
In truth, Trischka harbored deep envy for Andre. He often fantasized that if he could possess Andrei's identity, he might actually be able to reform the system in the North the North and make it a more advanced and enlightened country.
But Andre so easily gave up everything he craved—power, status, and even lineage—which Trischka found utterly incomprehensible.
Andre shook his head and said calmly, "My current identity is just an ordinary Kingdom Citizen."
"I do not fight for any ruler, but only for the people who live in the the North."
I'm back. Four updates tomorrow.
