"Lucia, is this your old—old friend?" Once the two approached, Ivette heard the pink-haired girl say in a somewhat displeased tone, "Also, weren't you outrageously late? We've been waiting for almost an hour. What was that about?"
As she spoke the latter half of her sentence, her gaze fell on Ivette's face.
In fact, she had guessed correctly. The reason they were late really was Ivette. After all, Ivette did not need to attend the Discipline Committee interview and had no such outside pressure. Without Lucia urging her to get up, she could sleep straight through until noon.
"Sorry, sorry." Lucia said awkwardly, then introduced her. "This is Ivette Lochvia. You know her." After a pause, she turned around. "Ivette, this is Anya Vida, and this is Flami Frost. I've mentioned them to you before. Now you've finally met."
"Hello," Anya said blandly.
"Hello, Miss Lochvia. You can just call me Flami." Flami smiled warmly. Unlike Anya's cold attitude, she was full of curiosity toward Ivette. Her gray eyes kept wandering over Ivette, as though searching for the secret hidden beneath the unremarkable appearance of this girl.
"You can just call me Ivette too." Ivette returned the greeting politely. Her gaze barely lingered on Anya's face before meeting Flami's eyes.
Only after the ever-smiling girl could no longer bear Ivette's direct stare and awkwardly looked away did the corner of Ivette's lips rise slightly with interest.
She thought that this Miss Flami, while not someone concealing her race like Nixia, was concealing her strength instead. Which family's expert was she?
The Academy of Truth really was full of hidden talents.
Ivette sighed inwardly but did not expose her directly. After all, who knew whether she came from an unconventional background and had merely come to the academy for further study?
