Flami Frost walked out of the Beast Spirit Academy's theory building a little after one in the afternoon. The huge central courtyard was filled with the smell of potions, along with the stench commonly found in animal pens or pigsties. She frowned as she saw several Windbeak Eagles flapping their wings in the pale golden sunlight, driving away many outside-department students who, like her, had come to take elective classes. Nearby, the academy's own students stood watching with smiles, clearly having no intention of helping.
She passed through the crowd expressionlessly. Because she wore the Discipline Committee armband, the Windbeak Eagles did not dare provoke her. When she reached the arched gate at the department entrance, she saw the pink-haired girl waiting for her there, curiously peering into Beast Spirit Academy.
"Every time I come here, I feel like this place is basically a zoo." Anya peered inside with fascination but did not dare enter. Although she wore an Academy of Truth uniform and would have been allowed inside, who knew whether those Windbeak Eagles would attack her?
"I think so too." Flami nodded. She had already gotten a thorough understanding of Beast Spirit Academy's layout. One of its defining characteristics was that it covered a huge area but had few neoclassical buildings like those in the General Studies Academy. Animal pens, on the other hand, were everywhere.
"I heard Beast Spirit Academy has a Daedalus Project. Is that true?" Anya asked curiously.
Daedalus was Beast Spirit Academy's guardian Beast King, a Dreadclaw Beast King capable of rivaling an adult Giant Dragon and stronger than ordinary Archmages. He was extremely famous and one of the Academy of Truth's top public combat forces.
"It's true, and—" Flami said with a smile, "it'll be unveiled soon, at the end of this term."
