Education Without Distinction, Ten Thousand Beasts Pay Homage (Second Update, Please Vote)
Education without distinction; all living beings were welcome.
This was the core philosophy of the Arcane Path.
Ian naturally regarded Magic Beasts as "beasts," but these "aliens," possessed of intelligence and inherited civilizations, were difficult for him to view as mere foreign races.
One had to know that, if they were civilizations of the Pre-Epoch Civilization, then these so-called "aliens" had in truth entrusted everything their civilizations possessed to the Star Gods and the people of Terra. It was precisely because of their boundless trust that they had sent the Sparks representing all that their civilizations were to this place.
But what had happened in the end? After the Calamity of Falling Skies, the people of Terra had indeed lost their glory and morality, becoming an ordinary civilization of the post-apocalyptic age. Yet these civilizations had been reduced to food and raw materials.
Some of those alien Spark gods had come with malicious intent, seeking to seize a place to survive. Others had merely been destroyed because, in the course of unfolding, they had touched upon humanity's shelters... There were indeed alien races that had aided humanity, but more were like the ancestors of the Magic Beasts of the New Continent. They had even lost their civilizations' inheritances, able only to guard their Sparks in confinement, forever unable to reclaim the wisdom of their civilizations.
This was not sympathy. Ian merely... felt somewhat dazed.
"This is the starry sky."
He raised his head and looked toward the starless night above, the starless universe. The destruction of a civilization has nothing to do with that civilization itself. Perhaps it is merely the faintest ripple rising in the sea of stars.
*All past glory and splendor will pass away. In this infinitely vast universe, even without the war between the Star Gods
