As the contest began, Li Yun and the Cloud Cliff Saintess watched Bai Ruiguang while she continued investigating the poisoned experts.

• Li Yun swallowed the Heavenly Poison Demon Seed, absorbed its essence, and survived the Primordial Golden Lightning, while Yang Yundu’s attack on his mind was trapped by the Gate of Myriad Wonders.
• Li Yun endured ten lightning strikes, reached Heaven Man Unity, and gained the Innate Divine Ability King of Lightning before the Cloud Cliff Saintess brought him to White Emperor City.
• Li Yun agreed to compete for the Third Holy Son position as the Cloud Cliff Saintess revealed her suspicions about a hidden force within the White Emperor Family.
• Crown Prince Li Xin told Li Yun about their shared Li Clan ancestry and publicly appointed him Xuan Yue County King to represent the imperial clan in the contest.

• Li Yun challenged all eight Holy Son Candidates at once, overwhelmed them with his Celestial Domain and Myriad Miles of Ice Seal, and was declared White Emperor City’s Holy Son.
• After Crown Prince Li Xin ordered Li Yun to reach Tiandu Imperial City within three months, Li Yun suspected the summons was tied to the Wood Emperor Palace and sought a way into the White Emperor Inner City.
• Li Yun followed Heaven and Earth Tower agents, stole resources and message scrolls from their branches, and spread word of the robberies under the name Swallow Li San.
• Li Yun refined the stolen treasures, advancing to the Heavenly Human Second Layer and initially completing his Myriad Treasures Divine Body, while Tang Chuan set out to investigate the thefts.

After learning the palace was a decoy for the true inheritance, they destroyed the Four Great Evil Spirits’ Altars, leaving the Saintess to face their commanders while Li Yun slipped away.

• Li Yun concealed himself from the Four Great Evil Spirits, studied the city’s arrays, and damaged their four Altars with Mountain River Seal.
• Li Yun advanced his mental realm and array abilities, then brought the Cloud Cliff Saintess into White Emperor Inner City and led her toward the palace.
• Li Yun and the Cloud Cliff Saintess entered the White Emperor’s Palace, where Li Yun gathered treasures and subdued the Azure Lotus after her Transformation Tribulation.
