Aragorn's words made every soldier's breathing quicken. Given the Orcs' cruelty, if the city fell, the best its people could hope for was a quick death. Those less fortunate might be eaten alive, bite by bite.
"No matter how strong the enemy is, we must fight—fight to the death, because we have nowhere to retreat."
Aragorn raised Narsil high and roared, "Long live Gondor! Kill the Orcs and protect our home!"

All the soldiers roared in unison. As mentioned before, Aragorn possessed a peculiar charisma, and he raised their morale in an instant.
"He truly deserves to be the King of Men. Brother, I think I understand why you welcomed him back."
Faramir spoke to Boromir, who nodded. "Faramir, he is a king worth following. I firmly believe that only he can save Gondor."
Faramir nodded, and the brothers worked together to help Aragorn defend the city.
"Struggle all you like. You cannot change your fate."
Shuma-Gorath smiled disdainfully. She opened a Chaos Space and said, "Mechanical Demon King, come inside. I'll be waiting."
With that, Shuma-Gorath, the Balrog, and six Nazgûl vanished together. Clearly, their tactics were the same as last time: kings against kings, soldiers against soldiers.
That was only natural. If Andrew and Shuma-Gorath fought directly in Minas Tirith, no one else would need to fight, because most of them could not even withstand the shock waves of their battle.
Three Nazgûl remained behind, however. Their targets were Aragorn, Boromir, and the others.
"Aragorn, you have full command of the battle. The elven and Dwarven armies are heading here at full speed. They have the communication devices I left them, so you can keep track of their positions at any time."
