The Witch-king of Angmar spoke with lofty arrogance. Then he glared hard at Éowyn, and her body began to twist.
"Lord Smaug said that as long as I believe I can win, I can win. I won't lose. I can't lose."
The agonizing pain of her twisting body made Éowyn scream, but her eyes remained utterly resolute. Just as her body was about to be torn apart, dazzling light shone from her, and a brand-new suit of armor appeared.
This armor was extremely strange, covered in spiral markings. At the same time, the weapon in Éowyn's hand transformed into a spiral drill.
As soon as the Spiral Armor appeared, it absorbed all the twisting power, leaving Éowyn unharmed. Overjoyed, she darted to the Witch-king of Angmar's side and thrust her drill at his shoulder.
The Witch-king of Angmar hurriedly raised his flail to block. To his astonishment, however, a surge of spiral power flowed from her drill. The flail immediately began spinning at tremendous speed, almost wrenching itself from his right hand.
Éowyn seized the opening and pressed her attack, forcing the Witch-king of Angmar into a desperate defense. He tried using the Twisted Eye again, but the Spiral Armor absorbed all its twisting power and converted it into Éowyn's spiral power.
Indeed, Éowyn's spiral power came from the Witch-king of Angmar's twisting power. Their fates were linked, and his strength became hers.
Only this way could Éowyn possibly slay the Witch-king of Angmar. This was the Path of Fate, and also the path of cause and effect—Éowyn slaying the Witch-king of Angmar was the effect, and everything was moving toward that outcome.
