Shuma-Gorath's plan was sound. Unfortunately, she had underestimated Andrew far too much.
Had it been Ganahta, she would have gone down long ago. Andrew, however, would not. Although he had only recently become a multiversal entity, his mastery of fate was anything but shallow. Every time, he woke at the same instant as Shuma-Gorath, and they fought fiercely.
Was Andrew, the Mechanical Demon King, someone to be trifled with? Fate Magic had always been his specialty. Never mind anything else—Shuma-Gorath still had not realized that Ganahta was a fake.

When Andrew blocked her Chaos Fate, Shuma-Gorath was not disappointed. Instead, she laughed uproariously and unleashed her ability with reckless abandon, continuing her vicious battle with Ganahta in the River of Fate.
Shuma-Gorath did not believe Andrew could truly match her mastery of fate. She had been a multiversal entity for billions of years. There was no reason she would lose to a little upstart.
Besides, even if he could, it did not matter. They were on a battlefield, surrounded by chaotic energy and vast numbers of souls. As long as the battle continued, she would undoubtedly defeat Andrew.
Since Shuma-Gorath had dared to launch the final battle, she was naturally fully confident of victory. That went without saying.
"Whoa, my head's spinning. What kind of fight is this? Can't you just fight each other head-on?"
Ganahta felt as though her brain had been shaken into soy milk. Even as the Daughter of Eater of Worlds, she had never seen a battle like this. It could not be helped—Galactus was famously straightforward. Either he ate his opponent, or his opponent killed him.
"This is a battle of fate."
As Andrew's magic rapidly analyzed the Threads of Fate so he could wake at the earliest possible moment, he said,
