The Genie paused, then added, "Of course, small perks are no problem. For example, I can give you ten gold coins, but not ten thousand. That would break the rules."

"Three wishes are enough. I just want to make sure you'll keep working for me after you gain your freedom."

Andrew nodded in satisfaction. "Of course, I won't make you hurt anyone. You'll save the world with me, and in your free time, you can do whatever you like.

"For example, you could go to Hollywood in the Main World to sing and act. With your looks, you're sure to become a star—a huge one, at that."

"Become a singer?"

The Genie was delighted. If everyone in the world could hear him sing, that would be wonderful. As for becoming a star, he was certain he would. His singing was just that beautiful.

By contrast, the Genie had little opinion about saving the world. He was a genie; his only job was to grant wishes. He had no real concept of good and evil. Whoever held the Magic Lamp was his master. It was that simple.

Without hesitation, the Genie flew over to Andrew and said respectfully, "Master, I pledge my loyalty to you."

The Genie was clever enough not to add any conditions. There was no need. If Andrew freed him, he would certainly remain loyal. If Andrew didn't, then after the three wishes, he couldn't serve Andrew even if he wanted to.

The Magic Carpet flew over too, bowing and scraping in a show of loyalty. Andrew couldn't help laughing. "Genie, you won't regret this decision. Also, just call me Boss from now on."

"I hope I won't regret it either, Boss."

The Genie smiled. So far, he hadn't given up anything, so there was nothing to regret.
