"We have no problem with that either."
Hoggoth, Galacta, Andrew, and The Kung Fu Master all nodded. Only Sarah hesitated. On one side were over a hundred innocent soldiers; on the other was the safety of the entire world. It was a difficult choice.
Lyle stared at their responses in astonishment. Are you sure you people are really the good guys? he silently grumbled. Could we actually be the villains? Surely not?
"We were just joking, Mister Lyle. Don't take it too seriously."
Andrew smiled and said, "This is easy to solve. I'll develop a Knockout Bomb and put all the ordinary soldiers to sleep."
"They have gas masks,"
Lyle reminded him. "They won't wear them all the time, but once they notice anything wrong, they'll definitely put them on."
"Gas masks won't work against something I develop, unless they're connected to an oxygen tank. A mask that only filters the air won't stop my Knockout Bomb."
Andrew shook his head. Special forces wouldn't carry oxygen tanks on their backs. For one thing, they were heavy; for another, they were dangerous. If a bullet hit one, things would get very interesting.
"That's good, then."
Lyle said no more about it. Instead, he asked, "When do we leave?"
"Right now, of course. Wade, hurry up and devour Thanos's and Set's bodies. Then we'll get ready and leave immediately. The sooner, the better."
Andrew added, "Hoggoth, you can get back at Wade later. Let him off for now."
"All right."
Hoggoth nodded and casually tossed Wade aside. Wade rolled his eyes. Shouldn't you be telling Hoggoth to leave me alone? What do you mean, get back at me later?
