"Pictures of Vampires drinking blood have appeared on Facebook."
"Lots of people are discussing Vampires on Twitter."
"TikTok is full of Vampire videos. One of them even went through the history of Vampires in detail."
Listening to the Technical Department's report, Coulson had a massive headache. More and more Vampires had been causing trouble lately, leading many people to discover their existence. All kinds of pictures and videos were spreading across the internet.
Ever since smartphones had appeared, information had spread much faster. Even S.H.I.E.L.D. found it difficult to control everything as it had in the past.
"Damn Vampires. Damn TikTok."
Coulson could not help cursing. Facebook and Twitter were manageable, since they would cooperate with the Technical Department to delete posts. But TikTok ignored them completely. For download numbers, it had even pushed Vampire videos into the trending section.
It was not as if Coulson had never warned TikTok. The problem was that TikTok completely ignored his warnings. He had once sent the Technical Department to attack TikTok's servers, but those braggarts had been utterly crushed. Their opponents had nearly breached their own servers.
After thinking for a moment, Coulson called Nick Fury and said, "Director, word about the Vampires is spreading rapidly. I'd like to request Jarvis's help."
Jarvis was Tony Stark's intelligent butler, currently the world's most advanced Artificial Intelligence. No one could delete posts faster than it could.
Nick Fury said, "No need. Keep everything as it is."
Coulson froze, then asked somewhat excitedly, "Director, do you mean..."
"I don't mean anything, and neither do you."
Nick Fury cut him off and said, "A number of teams will be entering New York for drills soon. Make your preparations."
Coulson immediately nodded. "Understood."
The Vampires wanted to tear up the agreement, but humans wanted the same. As a seasoned control freak, Nick Fury had long wanted to eliminate the Vampires.
As for who would have the last laugh in this contest, time would tell.
Half a month later, at Rebirth Tower, Andrew called Howard and asked, "Has the Artificial Intelligence been developed yet?"
"Almost. I want to create an Artificial Intelligence that surpasses Jarvis."
Howard said this was a common flaw of the Stark family: they always pursued perfection. How did That Sentence go again? If it came from Stark, it was bound to be premium.
"Hurry up."
Andrew hung up and used magic to contact Trask in Hell. "Has the Leech factor that can suppress the X-Gene been successfully extracted?"
Trask said, "The extraction was successful. We're currently studying large-scale replication."
"Very good. Speed it up."
Andrew nodded in satisfaction. He hung up, stretched lazily, and figured that all his work for the day was done. It was time to enjoy himself.
What had Andrew done? Made phone calls, of course. As the boss, his greatest job was to hold a whip and drive his employees to work harder.
"Gwen has work today. I'll ask her out later."
Andrew was pondering this when the Magic Mark he had placed on Gwen sent him a signal. Gwen was in danger.
In an Osborn Group laboratory, cries and screams rang out one after another. A green humanoid Lizard over three meters tall, with blood-red eyes, was wreaking havoc in the lab. Smashed equipment lay everywhere.
The giant Lizard grabbed a researcher in a white coat, bit through his neck, and began gulping down blood. The Others were so Scared they nearly wet themselves as they fled wildly.
Gwen was also running. As she ran, she used trembling hands to dial 911. At that moment, the giant Lizard tossed aside the researcher's corpse and kicked a table hard toward the fleeing crowd.
Everyone hurried to dodge. Gwen was shoved over the balcony, falling along with her phone.
"No!"
Amid the howling wind, Gwen Screamed, her heart filled with terror. Her scream caught the attention of Spider-Man, who happened to be passing by. He immediately swung over with Spider Silk.
Just then, the sharp-eyed Spider-Man saw a figure below stepping on his own left foot and rapidly leaping upward. He could not help crying out, "That's not scientific."
Of course it was not scientific. This was purely Andrew's Bad Taste. He leaped all the way into the air, caught the Screaming Gwen, and jumped with her onto the balcony, casually grabbing her phone as well.
"Andrew."
At the sight of Andrew, Gwen was almost moved to tears of joy. She leaned into his arms and gasped for breath.
Andrew comforted her. "Don't be afraid. As long as I'm here, you won't suffer any harm."
"Mm."
Gwen clung tightly to Andrew. Only in this warm, strong embrace could she feel safe.
At that moment, Spider-Man clung to the wall opposite them and shouted, "Man, that move you just used wasn't scientific. Stepping on your left foot with your right would make the two forces... Huh, Mr. Wang!"
Andrew knowingly asked, "You know me?"
Spider-Man gave an awkward laugh. Not daring to linger, he hurriedly shouted, "Someone up there needs help. I'm going to help them."
With that, Spider-Man quickly climbed upward. Before long, he saw a giant Lizard drinking blood. He roared and charged forward, engaging the giant Lizard in a fierce fight.
Andrew only watched for a few moments before losing interest. It was the typical rookie brawl—both of them fought entirely on talent, and their combat skills were practically nonexistent.
Gwen asked curiously, "Andrew, do you know Spider-Man?"
Andrew asked, "No, he knows me. What exactly happened?"
"It was my fault."
Gwen said guiltily, "I didn't keep the Vampire blood secure. Doctor Connors added it to the Lizard Potion. Then, I don't know what happened, but Doctor Connors injected himself with the untested Lizard Potion without authorization.
"Then he turned into a bloodthirsty Lizard that had lost his mind. It was all my fault."
Doctor Connors was disabled, lacking his right hand. His lifelong dream had been to create a world without defects. Therefore, he researched cross-species genetics, intending to use the genes of other species to make humans immune to disease.
For decades, Doctor Connors had failed time and again. But after obtaining Vampire blood, he succeeded—succeeded in turning himself into a blood-drinking giant Lizard with both arms intact.
"A blood-drinking Lizard?"
Andrew was somewhat surprised. How had Doctor Lizard's storyline gone so far off track?
Gwen calmed down. Recalling what had just happened, she asked in astonishment, "Andrew, how did you jump up here just now? And why did you arrive at such a perfect time?"
Andrew smiled and said, "I sensed that you were in danger, so I came specifically to find you. Looks like my senses weren't wrong."
Gwen said, "Sensed it? You mean telepathy? That's not scientific."
Andrew scraped Gwen's nose and said, "At a time like this, you only need to be touched, my little top student."
Gwen felt a little shy and a little sweet. At that moment, Doctor Lizard knocked Spider-Man out of the room. Seeing Andrew and Gwen showing off their affection, Spider-Man curled his lips in annoyance, used Spider Silk to leap back into the room, and fought Doctor Lizard once again.
