"I never expected such an advanced interstellar civilization to do things like this. I used to think society would become more civilized as technology kept developing."
Frenchie shook his head. "Honestly, I'm pessimistic about humanity's future. Are we really going to end up in a cyberpunk world?"
Director Newman scoffed. "Survival of the fittest is the only unchanging rule. Civilization is nothing more than a veneer.
"We modern people are indeed more civilized than ancient people, but once robots arrive, things will definitely change. Robots will replace humans as the new labor force. A cyberpunk world isn't impossible."
Frenchie wanted to debate the subject with Director Newman, but Marvin interjected, "Hey, we're in the middle of a war, remember? Save your philosophical discussions for afterward."
Everyone shrugged. The fact that Director Newman and Frenchie could afford to get distracted showed that the three warships weren't putting much pressure on them. Indeed, the Nanomachinery Dragon was more than capable of holding off all three, or even destroying them.
Something occurred to Director Newman. She walked into another room and asked Andrew's duplicate, who was watching Miami, "King of Abilities, we've stopped the three warships. How do we get them to attack that island next?"
An alien attack on Earth alone wasn't enough. The aliens had to cause heavy casualties. Only then would the public hate them to the bone and form the Avengers.
"Don't worry. I'll find a way."
Andrew said nothing more. In fact, Indigo had already infiltrated the three warships. If necessary, she could take complete control of them and launch a suicide attack on the island.
Director Newman looked annoyed. The King of Abilities was good in every other respect, but just like the Director of S.W.O.R.D., he loved keeping people in suspense.
Chthon wasn't concerned that the
