"Cassandra, did you think that just because you weren't afraid of death, there was nothing I could do to you?"
Andrew sneered. He raised his hand, and a pair of scissors appeared out of thin air. Then, he snipped at Cassandra's shadow with the scissors, cutting it directly away from her.
"King of Abilities, what did you do?"
Cassandra asked curiously. Yes, curiously, not fearfully. Someone who wasn't even afraid of death naturally would not be easily frightened.
"This is your shadow—another you. Everything you know, she knows as well."
Andrew said, "Shadow Cassandra, awaken."
At Andrew's command, Cassandra's shadow beneath her feet crawled up by itself and stood upright. Then, the shadow rapidly expanded, soon turning into another Cassandra, except she was black.
Moreover, neither Cassandra nor Shadow Cassandra had a shadow.
"Master."
Shadow Cassandra respectfully bowed to Andrew. Andrew nodded and activated his second Ability, Fusion, merging Cassandra and her shadow together.
Cassandra instantly understood Andrew's plan. He wanted to use her shadow to replace her. She immediately flew into a rage. She was not afraid of death, but she did not want to be replaced by someone else. She was the one and only Cassandra Xavier.
Within Cassandra's Sea of Consciousness, Cassandra roared, "You imposter, get out of here!"
"I am indeed an imposter, but once I replace you, the fake will become real, while you will become my shadow."
Shadow Cassandra sneered. Cassandra raged and prepared to tear the imposter apart. Just then, countless chains emerged from the Void and tightly bound Cassandra, leaving her unable to move.
"Sorry, original body. I have someone helping me, but you don't."
Shadow Cassandra giggled. Then, amid Cassandra's roars, she took possession of the body while Cassandra was driven into the shadow.
That was not the most tragic part.
