Poseidon's consciousness sensed an intruder and immediately awakened, launching an attack. Anna instantly felt colossal waves rushing toward her. She was startled, but quickly became resolute. Boundless Resentment Energy formed a wall, blocking the waves.
Soon, the wall and the waves collided violently. The wall shattered with a boom, but the waves vanished as well. In other words, the two sides were evenly matched; neither one overwhelmed the other.
Why could Anna match Poseidon? It was not because Anna was truly that powerful, but because this Poseidon was merely a strand of consciousness—and not a particularly powerful one.
The reason was simple. The Source of Life could not withstand an overly powerful consciousness, and Poseidon did not dare send one either, because it would attract the King of Abilities.
Furthermore, Poseidon had arranged Divine Power outside the Source of Life to protect it. Thus, he had never expected to fight Anna in the first place. How the hell had Anna gotten in? It made absolutely no sense.
"Evenly matched. This can be fought."
Anna rallied her spirits and launched another assault. Before she was absorbed, she had to defeat this strand of consciousness and seize the new body within the Source of Life.
"Dream on. Even if our Mental Power is evenly matched, you cannot possibly be my opponent. I am a god. My control over energy surpasses yours by hundreds, even thousands of times—not to mention that I can wield Law Power."
Poseidon snorted coldly. Rather than defend, he took the initiative and clashed fiercely with Anna's consciousness.
At first, Poseidon had been extremely confident, certain of victory. But as the battle continued, he realized something was wrong. Why was Anna growing stronger the longer they fought?
"This isn't right. Leader Anna has not Resonated with the other Evil
