At this moment, Toad came to his senses and hurriedly shot his tongue at Andrew. Disgusted, Andrew stepped back and dodged.
Sabretooth let out a roar and charged at Andrew with thunderous strides, but Professor Charles, feeling sorry for his 'bestie,' secretly let Sabretooth go.
Andrew knocked Sabretooth to the ground with a single swing of his umbrella. Magneto seized the chance to control himself into gliding away. Then, with an angry roar, he sent all the nearby cars flying, hurling them one after another at Andrew.
Andrew dodged the cars as leisurely as if strolling through a garden. They crashed into the ground in succession with thunderous booms, sending countless parts flying as cries of alarm rose all around.
Magneto, nearly mad with rage, was about to continue attacking when a red figure in a suit, with a tail, appeared beside him and vanished with him.
Immediately afterward, the red figure appeared behind Toad and Sabretooth, taking the two with him as they dissolved into red mist and disappeared.
"Red Devil? That Is To Say, people from the Hellfire Club are still alive?"
Andrew's eyes flickered, but he did not give chase. In Fact, he had never intended to kill Magneto. Otherwise, Magneto would have been beaten to death already.
Villains were precious resources and could not be slaughtered carelessly. If he killed them, who would bring fear and despair to the people of New York?
Andrew shook his head and pressed the button on his watch. All the electronic devices around them were instantly formatted. This was a hacker watch Howard had developed.
"Coulson, I'll leave the aftermath to you."
After giving Coulson that instruction, Andrew left with an excited Gwen. Coulson reflexively acknowledged him, then suddenly realized, I'm not your subordinate, am I?
Coulson shook his head helplessly and began dealing with the aftermath. He first sent agents to calm the public, then walked over to Professor Charles and said, "Professor, I think we need to work together now. Magneto clearly wants to make something big happen."
Professor Charles asked curiously, "Who was that man just now? One of your S.H.I.E.L.D. people?"
"No. We can't afford to hire someone like him. He was just passing by."
Coulson gave a Bitter Smile. At that moment, Professor Charles said, "Oh, so he's that Angel of Fire. No wonder he's so formidable."
The smile on Coulson's face froze. No wonder Nick Fury never went to see Professor Charles. Talking to a mind reader was simply too painful.
In truth, Professor Charles had not read Coulson's mind. He had merely received a few stray thoughts Coulson emitted due to emotional fluctuations. It was his instinct, something he could not stop.
"I will keep it confidential."
Professor Charles said, "Jean will discuss the cooperation with you."
After saying that, Professor Charles controlled his wheelchair toward Wolverine and Rogue. He said, "Rogue, I respect your choice, but I hope you'll think it through. Your ability is a gift bestowed upon you by heaven."
"I don't want a gift like this."
Rogue gave a Bitter Smile. After thinking it over, she decided to return to Mutant Academy with the professor first—what had just happened had Scared her a little.
An hour after Rogue and the professor left, the Mutants remaining in Times Square felt their vision blur and found themselves in separate offices. Then, the Hell Messenger, as beautiful as a supermodel, asked with a smile, "Do you want to become an ordinary person again?"
The Brotherhood's New York base was located on an island. After being rescued and brought back, Magneto, bruised, battered, and utterly disheveled, Roared, "Why did you bring me back? I was going to kill that brat."
Magneto did not think he was weaker than Andrew. He had merely been careless before and failed to dodge.
"Raven told me to bring you back. She thinks that if you keep making trouble, you won't come to a good end."
Red Devil shrugged. He and Magneto were merely partners, so he did not speak politely at all.
Furthermore, Red Devil had once deceived Mystique Raven into bearing him a child—Blue Devil. Their relationship was terrible. If it had not been for Magneto, Raven would never have called Red Devil.
"Damn It."
Magneto cursed bitterly. How many years had it been since he had been so humiliated? He had been pinned to the ground and beaten by a mere brat.
Toad said, "Erik, calm down. We should take our time with revenge."
"We can't take our time. What happened today will make those people lose their awe of Mutants. More importantly, there must be a massive conspiracy behind Mutants turning back into ordinary people. We must act as soon as possible."
Magneto took a deep breath and said coldly, "Prepare the instruments. In seven days, we will attack New York Times Square and turn everyone in Manhattan into Mutants. Red Devil, you're coming with us then."
Red Devil shrugged. "I don't care."
Toad froze, then hurriedly said, "Erik, without that girl, you'll die if you activate the instrument."
Magneto had developed a Radiation Instrument that could transform ordinary people into Mutants, and he needed to activate it personally. The instrument consumed an enormous amount of energy. If he wanted its radiation waves to cover all of Manhattan, Magneto would most likely have to sacrifice his old life.
That was why Magneto wanted to capture Rogue—she could absorb the abilities of Others, and Magneto wanted her to activate the instrument in his place.
It was worth mentioning that Magneto's instrument was actually a failure. It could transform people into Mutants, but after the transformation was complete, they would die from Gene Collapse within a Short Period of Time.
What? Why didn't Magneto know?
Because he had never conducted any experiments at all. That was just how people in this lousy world were: Lizardman, the future Mutant Cure, and the transformation instrument were all put into use immediately after being developed. They had no scientific spirit whatsoever.
Magneto said coldly, "It's fine. Raven has found a Mutant capable of Life Link. When the time comes, we'll use the lives of those Traitors in Times Square to accomplish our great Mutant cause."
"Then there's no problem. Erik, let's go prepare. This time, we'll definitely make humanity pay."
Toad nodded and excitedly left with the Others. Feeling the pain throughout his body, Magneto became even more furious. He would make that brat pay the price.
Although Times Square had suffered Magneto's attack, the steady stream of Mutants turning back into ordinary people meant that it had not grown deserted. Instead, it became increasingly lively.
In Rebirth Tower near Times Square, Andrew sensed Soul Pacts being signed one after another and felt deeply satisfied. What pleased him even more was that, according to the investigation, Mutants from other places were gathering in New York.
That Is To Say, Andrew would have to keep casting Curses until his hands cramped over the next stretch of time.
"Technology really is the primary productive force. Say, if I developed a formula for eternal youth, would those women sell their souls to me for it?"
Andrew stroked his chin. This seemed highly promising. One only had to look at the cosmetics market to know what price women were willing to pay for Youth.
