The next day, Andrew met with the president. After a friendly discussion, the president gave his preliminary approval to the Robot Committee proposal.
Of course, Congress still had to vote on it, but that would not be much of a problem. The president would complete the process as soon as possible.
The president agreed so readily partly because he had no choice, and partly because even a few scraps slipping through Andrew's fingers would be enough to keep him and the interest groups behind him well fed.
America was a society ruled by money. With enough money, there were very few things one could not accomplish.

At USR Corporation, Alfred Lanning was deeply displeased by Agent K's arrival to investigate. "I never thought the illustrious Mr. Wang would resort to methods like this."
"It's just a routine investigation. If the boss really wanted to destroy your company, it would already be gone."
K said disdainfully, "You don't actually think your security systems could stop Miss Alice, do you? With a single thought, she could wipe out every bit of your company's data."
Dr. Lanning fell silent. After a moment, he said, "I'll develop an artificial intelligence more powerful than Alice or Jarvis."
"That's your business," K said. "But whatever intelligent life you develop, you'll have to submit it for review by the soon-to-be-established Robot Committee."
Dr. Lanning's expression darkened. The Robot Committee was a crushing blow from an entirely different level. With that committee in place, USR Corporation would never be able to surpass Stark Industries.
"Iron Man, Andrew Wang, I will surpass you both, no matter what underhanded methods you use to suppress me."
Although Dr. Lanning was already in his forties, his thinking was
