"I can still become a superhero?"
Kid Power was overjoyed. Andrew said, "If I say you can, you can. Of course, you have to turn over a new leaf. No more of your old tricks. You have to become a real superhero.
"If you don't measure up, I'll cut you loose. There'll be no special treatment."
"I'll measure up. With my abilities, I'm sure I can become the most popular superhero."
Kid Power spoke excitedly. Of course, given his personality, he would undoubtedly keep trying to cut corners. Andrew would have to straighten him out over time.
That wouldn't be difficult. After all, Kid Power's loyalty belonged to Andrew, and Andrew had plenty of ways to keep him under control.
Kid Power's words drew simultaneous snorts from Green Lantern and the other superheroes. Newcomers these days were far too arrogant.
Something occurred to Green Lantern, and he said, "Kid Power, are you pretending Mr. Wang doesn't exist?"
Andrew glanced at Green Lantern. This guy actually knew how to sow discord. Could he be Wade in disguise?
"Boss?"
Kid Power paused, then said, "Then I'll be the second most popular."
Everyone was speechless. Andrew said, "Don't worry about that. I'm not a superhero at all. I'm just Wonder Woman's very low-profile boyfriend."
Everyone booed him. What the hell is low-profile about you?
"Boss, I'll head back right now, take care of Steppenwolf for you, and recover the two Mother Boxes. I tampered with his Battle Armor. I can take him out in an instant."
Kid Power spoke excitedly. Once he recovered the Mother Boxes, he could become a superhero. That was much better than being a supervillain.
