Three days passed in the blink of an eye.
Duke arrived at the Spirit Society early to prepare for class.
The Seven Towers Federation was a nation ruled entirely by Arcane Mages. Knowledge related to Spiritual Arcana was disseminated to the public through the various levels of Spirit Societies and Spirit Towers.
For example, they offered free registration as a Spiritual Apprentice and distributed meditation methods, as well as holding free public lectures.
Of course, for ordinary Spiritual Apprentices, obtaining more and deeper knowledge of Spiritual Arcana was still tremendously difficult. After all, no Arcane Mage was willing to sacrifice their own time and knowledge simply to teach Spiritual Apprentices how to advance.
Buying books was a relatively good way to acquire knowledge, but words and drawings could never become vessels for Spiritual Arcana.
The more profound the Spiritual Arcana content, the less it could be obtained from paper.
As time passed, public lectures became the only way for Spiritual Apprentices—especially those from ordinary families who relied on drugs to advance—to obtain deeper knowledge.
"Boss Little Duke, I heard you bought a farm?" An acquaintance, Winston, came over to greet him.
"Yeah."
"Oh my, trading Little Sam's Card Shop for a farm—that's a money-losing deal." Winston shook his head repeatedly, but he was a sensible man. "Run the farm well. At least you won't have to deal with any more murky business coming to your door."
Duke asked, "Boss Winston, did you run into something too?"
"Listen to you. Which shopkeeper in town hasn't run into trouble? Just look at our Second Vertical Street—how many shopkeepers have we gone through? Sigh, my wife is a distant relative of the Black Snake Family, so she can keep some trouble at bay. I only hope I can keep the business going."
