History
Early development
Tian Yuan began as a remote territory linked to Shiling Town by a winding route roughly six hundred kilometers long. Its early core already contained the City Lord's Mansion, Mage Tower, and Thunder Magnetic Coil Tower. 183
As its residential, factory, planting, and commercial districts expanded, the territory developed a distinctive gourd-like layout: the northern core and eastern and western troop districts formed the upper portion, while the southern residential and work areas formed the lower portion. The Treant Forest occupied roughly five percent of the area and supported herbal and brewing workshops. 361
Revelation and first city defense war
When the mist south of Wolf Head Mountain was torn open, Elf Legendary Mireina and Giant Legendary Asolo saw Tian Yuan City for the first time: a human city of scattered buildings, high towers, and towering walls. 364
The city was attacked by Monster Legendaries and later suffered a major siege. Its barriers, walls, and outer buildings sustained severe damage, but Mu Yuan's delayed counterattack—centered on the Nine-Headed Roaring Thunder Flame Dragon—destroyed several Legendary monsters and preserved the city. 371 372
Expansion into a regional center
Following the war, Tian Yuan City added outer districts, expanded its residential capacity, and constructed industrial and transport facilities. The southern approach gained a mining, transportation, rest, and supply town connected to the city by a railway hundreds of kilometers long. 407 526
By this period, the city area had become larger than Shiling City, though it had a smaller permanent population of more than 200,000 residents. 560
Great City reconstruction
Mu Yuan judged the original core district to be congested, poorly planned, and insufficiently secure. Using his Lord True Body, he raised the core into a mountain several hundred meters tall, moved key facilities onto its mountainside platform, and created a semi-Mystic Realm behind the City Lord's Mansion for the Lord Altar and World Vine Totem Pole. 562
The reconstruction also widened rivers, added extensive greenery, relocated less-critical buildings away from the core, and linked an Energy Well to the Scepter of Heavenly Authority for a continuous supply of super spell missiles. 562
Population
| Period | Recorded population | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| During early Great City development | Over 200,000 residents | The city area had surpassed Shiling City in scale. 560 |
| Before Seventh Level advancement | About 300,000 residents; about 500,000 transient residents | The influx was driven by refugees, merchants, corporations, and World Tunnel traffic. 572 |
Layout and Appearance
Tian Yuan City is built among mountain ranges formed by converging mineral veins. It faces the Wolf Head Mountain Range to the north, overlooks the Elf Forest to the east and Giant Mountain Ridge to the west, and connects southward to transport settlements and supply routes. 526
- Central peak — A raised mountain containing the City Lord's Mansion, Domain Field Disruptor, Warrior Arena, Ice Heart Lotus Platform, defensive buildings, and a concealed semi-Mystic Realm. 562
- Treant Forest — An eastern forest producing fruits, vegetables, and medicinal herbs; later expanded into a vast root-linked forest network across the region. 361 712
- South District — A commercial and civic area containing Central Plaza, First Avenue, Tian Yuan First Hospital, Tian Yuan Grand Restaurant, Tian Yuan City Cathedral, and numerous resident-run shops. 549
- Outer city and satellite settlements — Includes towns, camps, mines, rail lines, and the southern Central Town/transfer station district. 526 571
- War Museum areas — Preserved zones associated with the city's earlier wars. 604
Infrastructure
Rail network
Tian Yuan City developed rail lines to Wolf Head Mountain Fortress in the north, Elf Town in the east, and major southern mines. 563
By its later metropolitan era, dense rail networks linked numerous cities across a region more than a thousand kilometers wide. 803
World Tunnels
The city constructed a Space Shuttle Station south of its walls. Its first tunnel used the World Vine's power to link the city with the southern end of the Ten Directions Island Domain. 563
Tian Yuan City subsequently formed the World Tunnel Alliance with Cold Moon City, Liu Shi City, and Qing Xin City. The connected cities contributed elite patrol forces, while Tian Yuan City maintained that it had sufficient high-level combatants to undertake tunnel security itself. 570
- Central Town serves as the principal World Tunnel commercial district and contains strongholds established by Cold Moon, Qing Xin, and Liu Shi City. 571
- Cross-domain travel through the tunnels made movement between Great Domains far cheaper, safer, and more accessible than cross-domain trains. 565 570
- Later international routes connected Tian Yuan City to the Seven Cities Federation and other nations, strengthening its reputation as a cultivation and transport center. 753
Defenses
Tian Yuan City's security is built around layered barriers, fortifications, powerful garrisons, and terrain-scale formations.
- City walls and towers — The early city used Rare-grade Black Rock City Walls, Arrow Towers, Thunder Magnetic Coil Towers, and other defensive buildings. 183 446
- Celestial Four Symbols Array — Mu Yuan established Fire and Wind array foundations through an artificial volcano and Wind Valley, then later replaced the Wind meridians with Wood meridians. 611 711
- Celestial God Barrier — A two-ring defensive perimeter supported by 360 Giant Mountain God statues. 711
- Treant defense network — Treant Lords spread root systems beneath forests across hundreds of miles, allowing the Ancient Tree's authority and the Treant Grandmother's power to affect the wider region. 712
- Deep Space Tower — The Epic Black Tower was evolved into a Legendary-grade structure to strengthen concealment against hostile investigation. 701
- Legendary garrison — At the onset of the later Heavenly Rift crisis, Tian Yuan City fielded three Saint Realm existences, six Peak Law Realm Perfect Legendaries, nine Law Realm Peaks, and numerous Legendary and Divine Soul Realm professionals. 712
Notable Facilities
- City Lord's Mansion — Mu Yuan's administrative residence, built upon the central peak after the reconstruction. 562
- Ice and Fire Double Heaven — Fire — An Epic training building, nearly larger than the former main urban area, divided into multiple specialized training zones. 455
- Tian Yuan Academy — Established to cultivate experts for the territory; later relocated to a more secluded site appropriate for cultivation. 625 803
- Hall of Heroes and Challenge Tower — High-level cultivation sites available alongside other Miracle and Legendary buildings. 781
- Ninefold Underworld Hell — A Nether Prison used to detain trespassers and other serious offenders, including Legendary Realm captives. 572
- Foreign Guest Reception Building — A renovated early-era building decorated with rare plants, Wind King's Feathers, Frost Giant Dragon scales, and other trophies or contributions. 533
Relationships
- Mu Yuan — City Lord and architect of Tian Yuan City's growth, defenses, reconstruction, and tunnel network. 562 563
- Cold Moon City — Tunnel Alliance partner; shares World Tunnel profits equally with Tian Yuan City and holds significant land deeds in Central Town. 564 571
- Qing Xin City — World Tunnel Alliance partner with a Central Town stronghold and direct tunnel connection. 570 571
- Liu Shi City — World Tunnel Alliance partner; operates a Central Town station associated with sword and heart refinement. 570 571
- Nature Garden and Giant Stone Ridge — Allied forces that participated in Tian Yuan City's early defense war and shared its spoils. 374
- Tai Xuan Alliance — Tian Yuan City supports its war zones, provides aid to neighboring regions, and has become a major strategic force within the alliance. 608 707
Later Development
A decade later, Tian Yuan City had become a metropolitan area spanning more than a thousand kilometers north to south. Central Hub City—also known as the “World's Bridge”—served as a major international junction for World Tunnel traffic, with visa-free transit for foreign visitors. 803
The metropolitan area is protected by suspended mountains, defensive towers, roaming Tian Yuan Army patrols, and the absence of Filth Red Mist within its settled regions. This security drew professionals and Legendary experts seeking safety and opportunity. 803
A century after the Final War, Tian Yuan City had become a transcendent power at the center of the Tian Yuan Domain, itself the central Great Domain of the Eternal World and the core of the universe. Major powers from across countries and star domains established ties with it, while its cultivation holy lands attracted elite geniuses from throughout the universe. 822
