Background / History

Shen Xinyu was Zhao Tianlei's classmate at Huazhong Business College. During her first year, a scout from Imperial City Entertainment Company discovered her; after filming a trial music video, she rapidly became a prominent entertainer across commercials, film, television, and music. Her new campus drama was being filmed when the apocalypse began. 2

During the initial campus outbreak, Zhao Tianlei drew away zombies to give Shen Xinyu time to shelter in the library. After the library was breached, he protected her, Sister Hua, and others during their escape, receiving zombie scratches and bites while covering their retreat. Their separation afterward left Shen Xinyu's fate unknown to him. 86 189

Leadership dispute

When Zhao Tianlei was presumed dead, Shen Xinyu challenged Li Xuyang's fitness to lead, describing him as impulsive and better suited as an assistant than a captain. Tong Yuxin retaliated by attacking Shen Xinyu's standing in the group, while Zheng Bingyan intervened on her behalf. 412

After Zhao Tianlei returned, Shen Xinyu informed him that Tong Yuxin had pushed for Li Xuyang to replace him while the team was still mourning and searching for his body. 451

Reunion with Shen Xingwen
