Li Banfeng arrived at Iron Gate Fort. The steam gate stood open, and merchants came and went, doing business.
Wu Yongchao had once bought up all the merchants' goods in one batch, then sold them on to the House Cultivators in one batch. Li Banfeng had taught him that method, and it could keep the House Cultivators from being cheated.
But reality was not so simple. Wu Yongchao did not know every House Cultivator's different needs. He bought too much fruit and let it rot in his hands, while buying too little salt and vinegar and drawing everyone's complaints.
Left with no choice, he still let the merchants into the fort. But when it came to fraud, Wu Yongchao punished it even more harshly. Li Banfeng silently made a round of the fort. Iron Gate Fort was in good overall condition, and the House Cultivators lived better than before. No matter how he looked at it, he could not see where the danger lay.
A new cinema had been built in the fort, something Li Banfeng liked.
But the cinema was close to going out of business. Though tickets were cheap, it did not suit the nature of House Cultivators.
The House Cultivators' creed was this: if something could be watched at home, they would absolutely not go outside to watch it.
If something could not be watched at home, it must not be worth watching.
Today, some House Cultivators had gathered in front of the cinema. Li Banfeng recognized quite a few of them. Thinking there might be an especially good film today, he went closer and saw a poster hanging at the entrance. It was Blood Blade Detective.
This series had reached its fifteenth installment. Its counterpart, Blood Spear Detective, had stopped coming out long ago.
