The facts proved that the Chopra Family had no manners whatsoever.

Putting himself in their shoes, after stepping inside and holding a meeting, all their friends and relatives had ended up sprawled on the floor, dead or alive. No one would be able to accept that easily. The fact that he had not drawn his blade on the spot, as Ji Jue had hoped, already showed astonishing self-restraint.

For one brief instant, it seemed as though they might burn both jade and stone. But then Boggio's fury abruptly receded. After casting Ji Jue a cold glance, he let out a soft sigh. "Mister Ji, in order to seize the Chopra Family's legacy through trickery and force, you truly have plotted everything to the last detail."

"You flatter me."

Ji Jue shook his head solemnly and corrected him. "Trickery? There's really no need for that. Force? That's even less applicable... It isn't that much effort, nor is it that much trouble."

He did not conceal his intentions in the slightest, nor could he be bothered with honeyed words.

His wolfish ambition was plain for all to see.

Yet it was precisely that open display of ambition that left Boggio silent for a moment.

What else was there to say?

Things had come to this. Words were useless; in the end, they would have to settle it with their hands.

Still, for one fleeting moment, he actually felt envy toward Minkler, that fool he had never once taken seriously...
