The loud explosion and tremors came to an abrupt halt.

The confused and chaotic Elephant Isle fell silent once more. Black clouds filled the sky, and the gale howled through the darkness as all the residents looked at one another, not knowing what had happened.

They were only worried that a storm and rain might follow, disrupting their livelihoods.

The entire Chopra Family estate, along with the hill it stood on, remained shrouded in thin mist, looming in and out of view but impossible to see clearly. It blocked all prying eyes; even the watchers stationed in Elephant Isle City could not figure out what had happened.

In the slums and large residential districts, many people suddenly noticed that their surroundings had grown quiet. The noisy, intermittent chanting from next door had stopped at some point.

As though the power had gone out.

In the hospital's intensive care unit, several patients undergoing emergency treatment opened their eyes, feeling as though they had just had a nightmare—a bizarre dream in which they saw gods being devoured by demons.

Under the martial law imposed by local authorities, no large-scale unrest broke out, but rumors still spread through short-video platforms and countless websites.

Some people swore they had seen a giant face appear in the sky. Others said that the idols worshipped in their homes had suddenly begun to glow. In the areas around the foot of the mountain, scavengers sorting through scrap had found gold nuggets and agates that had fallen from the sky. Some even claimed they had personally witnessed something resembling a cargo ship suddenly rise from the Chopra Family estate and fly away...
