He returned to the Primordial World as the Investiture of the Gods Calamity began, with Jiang Ziya sent to aid a worthy ruler and Shen Gongbao pursuing him.

• Taiyi killed Ruin Sovereign, claimed the Gate of Chaos, and helped Hongjun defeat the Darkness Master before beginning to refine the Investiture of the Gods List.
• The Thunder Saint revealed his ties to the Thunder God Sect and the Chaos Sea, and Taiyi imprisoned him while learning of the Chaos Beast Race and sealing the route between the Primordial World and the Chaos Sea.
• Taiyi fused the Heart of the World into the Chaos Tree, obtained and refined the Gate of Eternal Life, and drew the Thunder God Sect and the other Saint Sects into preparations for his arrival.

Taiyi entered the Chaos Sea, gathered star treasures, and clashed with powerful factions while searching for the Star God Tomb. After the Star Tomb upheaved and separated him from the Purple Dou Saint Emperor, the imprisoned Star Dao Divine Lord asked Taiyi to help him escape, and Taiyi agreed.
