Fang Xiu looked at the first page and found that beneath the log regarding the Space-Time Stowaway Wanted Order, further down, there were records of the items Fang Xiu had seized.
Deceitful Clown's Face: Possessed the ability to alter one's appearance and deceive visual senses.
Giant Force Hand: Could merge into both hands, granting them immense strength. It could also ignore flames and cold, making the hands as hard as steel.
Seeing this Giant Force Hand, Fang Xiu recalled that night. Red Devil had leaped high into the air, springing up to the fourth floor like a nimble baboon and clinging to the wall. He must have relied on these Giant Force Hands.
Deep One's Blood: After drinking it, one could transform into a Deep One. Strength, physique, and reaction speed would all be comprehensively enhanced. One would also gain the ability to live in water and the ocean, as well as the blessing of the sea's power. This transformation was irreversible.
After Fang Xiu tested the blood inside the vial, he understood that it had likely been refined from that Deep One's body. No wonder he had not seen its corpse.
Fang Xiu took out the three items, intending to try them one by one. He started with the Giant Force Hand.
Fang Xiu slipped the steel-like glove over his hand. At once, he saw it melt into his body like mercury, and his entire palm turned metallic.
His hands seemed to have become a pair of metal hands, yet they remained as flexible as ever. This miraculous trait made Fang Xiu think of Transformers, and he could not help marveling at the wonders of supernatural creations from another world.
Fang Xiu wanted to test just how immense this so-called giant force was. He tried to lift the long solid-wood table in his home with one hand, only to crush the hard wooden tabletop the moment he gripped it. Yet Fang Xiu felt that he had barely used any strength.
One slap from this hand could shatter a person's skull and put on a performance of the Nine Yin White Bone Claw.
After withdrawing from the merged state and placing the Giant Force Hand neatly on the table, Fang Xiu picked up the Deceitful Clown's Face. Compared with the Giant Force Hand, he was more interested in this mask.
Holding the mask in one hand, Fang Xiu carefully placed it over his face.
The mask had an excellent texture, smooth and silky against his skin. But the instant it touched Fang Xiu's face, the original Clown Mask gradually transformed into another face, overlapping with his own.
It was actually the face of that Deep One Killer from before. Even the length and color of the hair were identical. Even his build changed, and Fang Xiu realized that he had grown much taller.
Fang Xiu wiped his hand downward from his forehead, and his face changed again. In an instant, it became the face of the policewoman he had seen before.
Fang Xiu picked up a mirror and looked at himself within it. Every frown and smile was exactly like that female officer's, even down to her expression and bearing. It was full of charm, and Fang Xiu could not help feeling that this ability was somewhat terrifying.
In modern society, being able to change one's face was practically an ability to do whatever one pleased.
Fang Xiu touched his face and hair, only to find that the sensation was still that of short hair, while his facial features remained unchanged.
"So this is the Deceitful Clown's Face? It only creates illusions and deceives vision—it doesn't truly turn me into someone else." Fang Xiu suddenly understood the meaning behind the mask's name.
Fang Xiu stood at the entrance of No. 2 High School, intending to go inside and investigate information regarding that Unlicensed Transmigrator.
Fang Xiu currently had the following clues—
1. The other party was named Wang Hao.
2. His transmigration location was inside No. 2 High School.
3. There was a photo of him from the future. He looked to be around thirty years old, so he was very likely a student at No. 2 High School. Of course, he could also be a teacher or another staff member, such as an employee in the cafeteria or school shop.
Therefore, Fang Xiu had to infiltrate the campus, verify the transmigrator's true identity based on the clues above, arrest him, and expel him from this point in time.
"Infiltrate a campus? Why does this plot feel like something I've seen somewhere before?" Fang Xiu rubbed his chin, always feeling that there was something not quite wholesome about those words.
But only after standing at the school gate did he realize that getting in would be troublesome. Even if he entered, investigating the campus as an unfamiliar adult would easily get him mistaken for a shady pervert and attacked by a crowd.
Fang Xiu felt that it was time to make use of some of his supernatural items.
Just then, a teacher happened to walk out of the school. Fang Xiu immediately ducked into the alley around the corner outside the campus, put on the Deceitful Clown's Face, and fixed his mind on the face of the teacher in his early forties who had come out through the school gate.
The Clown Mask wriggled continuously, seeming to melt into Fang Xiu's face. As it merged with him, Fang Xiu seemed to grow slightly shorter, while his hair became longer and parted in a three-seven split.
In the blink of an eye, he had become exactly like that teacher. As the man walked farther away, Fang Xiu immediately emerged from the alley and headed into the school.
The security guard greeted Fang Xiu. "Teacher Zhou, why are you back again?"
Fang Xiu nodded and found that even his voice had changed slightly. "I forgot something. I came back to get it."
Fang Xiu walked inside and immediately entered the teaching building. It was the third afternoon class, and the students were still in session. Hearing lectures, reading, and answers throughout the campus suddenly made Fang Xiu feel as though he had returned to his high school days.
The teaching building had four floors, each with a teachers' office. Outside every office was a list of the teachers and their positions. Fang Xiu walked upward floor by floor and finally saw Zhou Qian's name in the fourth-floor office. It was the only male name with the surname Zhou.
Fang Xiu walked in, and the male and female teachers in the office all looked up. "Teacher Zhou? Didn't you say there was something going on at home and that you had to go back?"
After entering, Fang Xiu scratched his head and put on an embarrassed expression as though he was terribly forgetful. "I suddenly remembered that there are some things I haven't finished. By the way, where's the key to the archives room?"
"In the large office on the second floor, I think. It's hanging on the wall. Go ask there."
Fang Xiu nodded. "All right, I'm heading off first!"
Fang Xiu immediately went to the second floor. On the wall, he saw a long row of hanging keys, each with a label attached. Fang Xiu found the key to the archives room, took it down at once, and headed there.
Inside the archives room, Fang Xiu found the files of all the students. He had just checked the information on all the teachers in the office and discovered that none of them was named Wang Hao. That meant the other party was very likely a student of No. 2 High School.
Fang Xiu immediately began flipping through the student rosters for every grade and every class. Whenever he found a Wang Hao, he pulled out the file and set it aside.
Fang Xiu found that the name was truly quite common. There were actually five people named Wang Hao in the entire school, so he could only inspect them one by one.
Holding the class information for the five Wang Haos, Fang Xiu began checking from the first year of high school, deciding to look at them one at a time.
Fang Xiu stood outside Class Three of the first year. The young female teacher conducting the lesson immediately noticed him and paused her lecture. "Teacher Zhou? Is something the matter?"
Fang Xiu said apologetically, "Sorry to interrupt. Does your class have a student named Wang Hao? Could you call him out for a moment?"
The female teacher turned around, looked toward the desks at the front of the classroom, and called out, "Wang Hao, come out for a moment."
The classroom erupted in murmurs. A short boy named Wang Hao walked out, looking somewhat frightened. "Teacher, what do you need me for?"
Fang Xiu took a look and felt that he did not seem like the right person, so he casually made up an excuse. "Do you know someone named Si Jia?"
The boy shook his head. Fang Xiu immediately said, "It's nothing. Go back to class."
Fang Xiu continued checking them one after another until he finally reached Class Six of the third year. When one of the students named Wang Hao walked out, Fang Xiu immediately locked onto him. He looked exactly like the person in the photo, only nearly ten years younger.
With ten years stripped away, a shut-in-looking man had become much more handsome and dashing. Back in high school, this guy even counted as one of the class heartthrobs.
But Fang Xiu let out a sigh of relief. He had finally found the guy. After all, the label of transmigrator made Fang Xiu rather cautious. He had thought this incident would be as troublesome and thorny as the previous three, so its smooth conclusion instead left him somewhat surprised.
After casually asking two questions, Fang Xiu ended the conversation. Now that he had locked onto the target, everything afterward would be easy.
