Fang Xiu opened his eyes on the sofa in the underground chamber, his consciousness and soul returning to his body once more.
He went up to the main hall, where the little ghost Chen Jin and the cat demon Black Fiend were both in the living room. Recently, however, Chen Jin seemed to be doing more than simply listening to the radio; she had even begun practicing alchemy.
Black Fiend, who had originally disliked Chen Jin intensely, discovered that she knew quite a bit about supernatural matters. It actually abandoned its master Fang Xiu and turned to fawning over her instead, buying all sorts of things online to give Chen Jin in an attempt to corrupt her through money. Judging by the results, the monetary offensive had been highly effective. The demon and ghost had recently begun showing signs of colluding in villainy.
Yet this time, when Fang Xiu entered the living room, he had the distinct feeling that something was out of place.
Fang Xiu turned his head toward Chen Jin. This time, she was not listening to the radio. Even Chen Jin had learned to shop online. She always bought some strange and unusual things, but everything still looked fairly normal.
