Fairy Tail: Vector Manipulation

Erza was a mission fanatic. She rarely appeared at the guild, spending most of her time on jobs. After her first meeting with Chen Fan, they had barely spoken. Whenever Chen Fan tried to show off his charm in front of Erza, she simply ignored him, dealing a devastating blow to his self-proclaimed suave, irresistible looks that supposedly made both people and flowers bloom at the sight of him.

Elfman continued preaching his manly ideals, bringing up being a man at every turn. Since Chen Fan often lectured him, he now admired Chen Fan immensely and took him as a role model as he marched down the path of manliness. His future looked rather precarious.

Then there was Gray. Aside from fighting with Natsu, Gray was also all alone, making Chen Fan cry out inwardly, What fate! His gaze toward Gray grew increasingly gentle, frightening Gray so badly that he no longer dared take off his clothes in front of Chen Fan. Whenever he saw Chen Fan, he clutched his clothes tightly, terrified Chen Fan might do something to him.

Now, back to the protagonist. After treating his hundredth patient, he had successfully fused completely with this body. However, he could not afford to be careless with developing his brain, so Chen Fan continued methodically according to the system. After nearly a year, he had successfully reached the peak of Level 3. He then stopped, leaving enough room for his brain to grow. Having been reborn once, his ambitions had grown considerably. His goal was to become a Level 6 Absolute Ability User.

Although Level 3 Chen Fan was already strong enough, the people in the guild avoided him whenever they could. Who would possibly go looking for trouble with him? As a result, Chen Fan had never had a chance to show what he could do.

It was quite different from Fairy Tail's reputation as destructive maniacs outside the city.

As Chen Fan treated more and more patients, including many influential officials and nobles, his name spread across the country. Because he treated people gently and warmly, and never raised his consultation fees even as his status rose, he enjoyed tremendous prestige among the public. It could be said that one call from him would draw countless responses.

Even the Magic Council could not ignore that influence. Thus, as long as Fairy Tail's members did not cause too much destruction in a city, the Council generally would not come looking for trouble with Fairy Tail.

This also restored quite a bit of Fairy Tail's reputation.

Makarov, the guild master, was so delighted he could hardly close his mouth. He kept boasting about his foresight in bringing Chen Fan back when he had nowhere else to go. It had to be said that Makarov really did have talent in that regard.

As a result, Chen Fan became the one person in that year's S-Class Mage selection who passed without having to undergo any tests. It was clear just how much Makarov had invested to keep Chen Fan.

If Chen Fan refused, he would not get up. He had none of the dignity of a major guild's master. Left with no choice, Chen Fan would put in a good word for Makarov.

It had to be said that Chen Fan's influence was truly immense. The residents of those damaged cities all gave him face, saying it was fine. Still, Chen Fan was never stingy with the money that needed to be paid, always paying out of his own pocket first.

The direct result was that nearly everyone in the guild owed Chen Fan money, which was why they avoided him whenever possible.

But none of that was Chen Fan's proudest accomplishment. What made him proudest was introducing Mahjong to Fairy Tail and registering a patent for it under Fairy Tail's name.

After all, this kind of thing was quickly pirated, so he needed a powerful guarantor. Chen Fan therefore gave Makarov thirty percent of the shares and let him handle everything. Now, Chen Fan did not need to spend a single coin; he could sit around and still have endless money rolling in.

Makarov used all that money to repay debts. Chen Fan had not expected that the money he had tricked out of Makarov back then had actually been borrowed from others. As for how much external debt Makarov had accumulated, no one even knew. No wonder Makarov had cried so miserably whenever Chen Fan took money from him.

In truth, Chen Fan did not know that he was the only one in the guild who could get money from the guild master. Even Laxus, his own grandson, had his wages confiscated by Makarov as repayment for all those years of upbringing. That was why Laxus had little respect for Makarov as guild master now.

Once Chen Fan learned the truth, he felt embarrassed on Makarov's behalf. That shameless old man even stole his grandson's hard-earned money.

All in all, the year had been quite peaceful, and Chen Fan enjoyed this kind of life. Whenever he was in a bad mood, he would stir up conflicts to liven up the guild. Whenever he was bored, he played Mahjong. When treating patients, if they were beautiful women, he could take a little advantage as well. "Why? Why are you rejecting me? Do you no longer love me?" Chen Fan asked with a miserable expression.

"No reason. It just can't be done." Mira still wore that smile, the kind that made it impossible to get angry at her.
