With a flash, Chen Fan pushed off the ground and instantly appeared beside Esdeath. Drawing the blade he carried with him, he slashed those monster-like creatures to pieces in an instant, leaving them utterly dead.
Chen Fan suddenly felt someone embrace him from behind. Recognizing the familiar fragrance, he knew it was Esdeath.
"You still haven't changed. Whenever I'm in danger, you always come out to protect me. I missed you so much. Why did you leave?" Esdeath said from behind him, her voice clearly carrying both resentment and surprise. She had obviously missed him dearly.
"Well! There were some things I needed to take care of. Didn't I leave you a letter?"
Esdeath said unhappily, "Who knew when you would come back? The letter didn't say. I thought you might never return, and why leave a letter? Why not tell me in person?"
"Why wouldn't I come back? I always keep my word, so don't dwell on those unnecessary worries. If I had told you in person, you wouldn't have let me leave, would you?" Chen Fan said to Esdeath.
"Of course I wouldn't have let you leave. And I won't let you leave again in the future!" As Esdeath spoke, her arms tightened around Chen Fan as though she wanted to meld him into her body so they would never be separated again.
"Is that so? All right, I won't be leaving anytime soon. You can let go now."
"No!" Esdeath refused decisively.
"Be good! Come on...!" Chen Fan coaxed Esdeath.
"No! I'll never let you leave again!" Esdeath refused once more, giving Chen Fan a headache.
"Then at least change positions. You're holding me, but I can't hold you. Doesn't that seem a little unfair?" Chen Fan could only settle for the next best thing. At least
